Pick up the fatties, body count sure has went up, bc you can't make a car squat in the rear with invisible trailer.

    Just a few fun reasons.

At the time, it wanted something reliable that I wouldn't mind putting a ton of miles on plus I still had a sports bike and the plan was to load the bike in the bike to track days. The track day stuff never happen but I carry my mountain bike in the back regularly, and it has helped when buying furniture or trips to the dump to get rid of junk. If there was a true small truck anymore, I'd gotten that since that's all I need.

    1) Taking the yard debris to the transfer station.
    2) Hauling stuff from the local lumber yard.
    3) 4WD for wintertime

    Why a Tacoma?
    1) resale, resale, resale
    2) wanted a manual transmission

Could have posted the same exact works, except for 'transfer station.' In these parts we call it 'The Dump' :D

Roads here in jersey suck. Larger tires mean I havent had a problem w/ the pothole situation in the last 6 years w/ this setup :)

But really...hauling stuff, bikes, surfboards, etc are easy to toss in the back. I've pulled out trees w/ and yea, the added height helps w/ the occasional snow storm here too

I was very much used to driving small, sporty cars, but after I got hit by a semi I decided it was time to drive something a bit bigger. Plus I love woodworking and building stuff so having a bed it nice, but I'm slowly getting sucked into the offroad scene. Driving offroad is pretty addictive.

A 2005 Tacoma 4x2 access cab SR5 with a Manual was my first new vehicle and first truck. I bought it because I had started racing motorcycles and needed an easy way to transport the bike and I didn't want to tow. I didn't want a used vehicle and so I couldn't afford a full-size truck (thank god, would have regretted that). It was great, I had it for 10 years and then upgraded to a 4x4 v6 SR5 with an automatic once I moved back to the east coast and wanted to start offroading. Paid $17k for the 2005 OTD and traded it in for $7500 with 150k miles on it and it was keyed on the passenger door and all over the hood. Bought my current 2008 Taco for $17k with 60k miles on it, and now have put on at least another $7k in parts/mods.

My 2003 Toyota Highlander was totalled in a car accident. I needed a new car and new for sure that I did not want a for sedan. We already owned another SUV so I figured, why not a double cab Tacoma. Different from an SUV. I still have the room for my family of four and I have the option of hauling stuff in the bed bed if I ever needed to. My Mountain biking gear stays in the bed and keeps the inside of my truck clean. Besides, Tacomas look good and handle great.

Wanted a truck ever since I was a kid, I'm 26 and this January I told myself life's too short to be driving a Honda Accord. First new vehicle, was a huge step for me.

First exposure to trucks was when I was 3 or 4, my dad had a 1970s blue Chevy pickup (this was in Iran). I don't remember much but apparently I balled my eyes out the day my dad sold it and the buyer came and drove it away.

But yeah some guys are sports car guys, some guys like luxury cars, but I'm a truck guy.

I owned a MINI Cooper S and dead hookers can be a real pain to get in the boot. I needed something that would wash out easy.
