I know this has been asked a million times, but when do yall recommend the first oil change. My wife has a Highlander and I have a Taco. Both of which are brand new, so trying to figure out when to do it and what to use. Comments are greatly appreciated!!

Toytec ultimate lift kit, light racing UCAs, ARB bumper and full skid plates underneath. Looking into redoing the suspension and maybe repainting the ol' Taco.
Some will say to do an initial change as soon as you get it so that you know there is good oil and the initial break-in is well lubricated. I differ to the the manual and do as it says. I believe 5,000 is recommended. As for oil, I am a Mobil1 fan every 5000 miles.

some people like to put synthetic oil in their engine immediately. but you can wait until 5k to do your oil change. Many people here use different kinds of synthetic oil.

just as sooner07, I too run Mobil1 in my engine. I use OEM filter.

Changed my new Taco at 5000 to Amsoil and wix filter...I think I gained a little mpg as well....

I may be in the minority here, but, I changed both of mine at 1000 miles. Synthetic. I plan on changing them again at 5000 miles just to get the numbers game working again.
