    hey guys was just wondering what a RR Diff Lock does/allow you to do?

    it locks the rear differential, making both wheels to spin at the same speed regardless of traction. it helps get you unstuck in muddy or otherwise slick situations.

    definitely do not use on pavement or any time there's a decent amount of traction.

    It is the electronic locking differential. And it 'locks' the differential so that both rear wheels spin at the same speed, and it is used as a traction aide.

    It relative advantages and disadvantages have been debated ad nauseum on this site. Use the search function and you shall have almost infinite reading at your fingertips.

    neglect, mostly.
    also don't use it while driving on snowy roads. use 4-HI, but not dif lock.

    See 'My Cousin Vinny' to learn what a disadvantage standard (open) differentials are. Funnier than hell!

    Just one of your back tires looses traction (in mud, ice, or in air over a rut) and you stop moving. Power goes to the EASIEST tire to spin with an open differential. Sadly, that tire isn't the one that is best at moving your truck forward... but it makes steering easiest.

    ...and to add just a bit, BOTH the 2WD and 4WD OFF ROAD Tacomas have the Rear Locking Differential.
