Screw KFI, screw anybody who says we shouldn't be out there. There's nothing they can do, and I will always be there to lend a helping hand. In the end, it's power by numbers. The more sets of eyes and ears in the area, the better chance of finding the subject. Plain and simple.

Looks like they found her very close to where we were searching last night. Poor girl could hear us the entire time, and couldn't muster up the strength to call back.

^^ This.. exactly. All that matters is that they are found, and alive.. Hopefully the snickering radio shows don't discourage others from doing what they can to help in future situations.

All I know is that if it was one of my kids missing, I would really appreciate the community effort to find them.

Because the coordinates from where the rescue operation took place was literally within 200 yards of where I was on my PA, calling out while walking, blasting train horns, and combing through. With at least 9 other people. There is NO WAY she didn't hear us, unless she was unconscious.

I didn't see anywhere that stated her condition. Only that she was airlifted to UCI Medical Center in Anaheim.

Yeah, it seems like they were both in bad shape. Nick was calling out, but he was clearly messed up like he was half asleep. Ted, the volunteer I mentioned before was awesome. He was the main one there having a yelling conversation with Nick through the whole rescue and explained what the helicopters were doing, and kept reassuring him that he was safe and would be fine. I won't give his last name, but in my eyes, Ted in Marketing is awesome.

The radio is reporting that Nick is in the ICU or at least was. Truthfully, I am really surprised how messed up he was. I don't think he slept the whole time, and he was barefoot and in shorts all scratched up from the rocks and brush. I'm not sure how he lost his shoes, but man.. what an ordeal.

So close to help and water.. just a bizarre thing.

This will really piss you off :(:

"Her friend, 19-year-old Nicholas Cendoya, was found alive just before sundown Wednesday. He was located in thick brush by a hiker who was unrelated to the search. He was rushed to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, where he is recovering in intensive care."

You know, I don't care about credit because that's not even important at the end of the day. I do think however that they are doing a major dis-service to future incidents by making a joke out of the volunteer SAR effort. Like the quote saying the rescuers know everything and everyone else should just stay out of their way. Thats just crap. They only had 40 official SAR people combing a massive area.. mostly on the trails because their trucks and horses weren't climbing those mountains until they were told where to look.

I know the pro crews were looking, and made the official rescue, but why make a joke of the volunteers out combing the hills en masse?

Who knows. I know when I was 18-19 I was dumb, and it seems many others suffered from this affliction too. lol

Fuck KFI. It was the volunteers who were out there day and night even tho they have day jobs helping and searching for people they've never met or seen before in their life. And it was the volunteers who found them.

Oh I forgot! When I passed one of the Fire department trucks (small red, not big engine) I stopped to say hi and I heard the driver go, "Wow.. another tacoma!"

I think TW was well represented.. Had to share.. lol
