Are you roster exempt? Or plan on buying second hand?

I have a kimber ultra carry 2 it’s a .45. I love it. It looks good. Feels good. External hammers are always a minus when it comes to concealed carry though.

I have shot both Shield variants. Some are annoyed by the LCI and mag disconnect. It did not bother me.

I have G42, G43, G43x. I would prefer the G43x out of all these due to the longer grip. You could do pinky extensions on the 42 and 43.

I have also shot Sig P238, 239 variants and those are smooth shooters for being single stack micros.

I do not carry (hard to do in Alameda County), but all of the above have small footprints.

My friend who just moved back from WA brought a P365 with him. I hope to try it soon. But based on what I have tried, I like the G43x the best so far. The barrier is the roster. Second hand, you may be paying $1000+ for a 43x.

    GL with your search.

Nearly a year later and I finally talked to Rocky. He seems like a great guy and was super helpful. He’s going to help me get my father’s hand gun from out of state and I will also be taking my FSC test there. Thanks for recommending him!

Maybe $100-$200 less. It's subjective question. Really comes down to how much you think you can get for it vs how quickly you want it sold. Calguns forum has sellers listing the 43x at $1,100+ depending on where you live. Most are in that $1400 range. For the 43, its $850+(sold quickly at this price). Many in the $1,000 range. This does not mean they are selling for that much, there is probably some negotiation involved.

If you are a seller, you tend to start high and lower according to how fast you want it to sell. If you're a buyer, you'll want to make an offer if you think it's too high. In short, buying a second hand off roster in CA sucks. The seller can usually make a few hundred bucks or more depending on the model.

Anyone know a range with a lot of pistol rentals? I'm exploring new options and want to try a few. I'm in SF. happy to drive a couple hours.

On that note, any idea if ranges with rentals have off roster guns? Like a Glock 48? I wouldn't mind trying one of those (and possibly paying a premium to buy it.)

Reed's in Santa Clara. Doubt they have anything off roster, though.
