Hey Tacobot, I figured out your lighting issue for your soft-topper, I have some KC rectangular back up lights that I bought but never used, I think I can refit them with LEDS (so it won't drain out your battery too fast), attach them to the frame of the soft-top and even install a weather-proof switch somewhere on the sides of the bed so you can turn it on or off when your camping. For the price of the wire, a relay and a switch, we could build a pretty cool little set-up.
Save those Hellas, we can refit them with brighter bulbs and install them with a custom grill for less money than you think, often there are folks selling stuff on TW you can pick up pretty cheap.

Was great meeting all of you and getting the chance to see some really nice Tacomas. Only problem is now I want to spend more money. Great group of folks there in the bay area.

Awesome meet! Definately worth the drive :)

I really like those LED strips in the back we talked about. Totally different, I know, but seems simpler and still plenty of light in the bed which is really all I *actually need. I'm going to have to wait a month or so to spend more $ on it though.

I really want to do the behind the grill lights now that I've seen it done in person in a variety of styles, w different kinds of mesh, different lights, etc.

It was nice to meet everyone, what a great group! Also great to look at all your trucks up close, and yeah, now I want All The Things. Haha.

Guys and gals, it was great meeting you all Thursday night! Wish I had gotten there earlier to hang out more. Thought I'd be drinking w/ two people but was shocked to see so many of you... way to represent, NorCal.

    Without further ado:
    I realized that this.......

Was actually just a headlight test:

    But it still looked cool:

Some lights were stronger than others:

Use a flash on the same scene, and check those guys on the right.
That pack with the shades - yeah, it's night time...... watch out for those guys right there.....

I spent Friday at BAMF taking too long undoing my own sliders, and wrapping those things as Jerry destroyed a bit installing my new BAMF ones. No envy watching that job happen. Got the rest of the gear, and it's well worth the drive to pick it up.

You all have killer trucks, and I've gotten some new ideas from you. If I don't vote for Vlad in November I'd be surprised, TacoBot: I guarantee your new behind-the-grill light setup will only benefit from my patented dead bug mod, thank you for caring BabyTruck - I'm safe in a hotel now ;), if at the next NorCal meet I attend I don't have scratches & rust on my new BAMF gear I'm gonna get stabbed. Not saying by who, but I've been warned. I'm also happy that this is a group that really empathizes with my new-found hatred of mud.

Thanks for the hospitality, and come down to L.A. anytime!

Thanks for having me! And your Rigid in the grill is sick. Gonna copy that.... ;) And how do you like that Smittybuilt? Have to change anything on the DO to mount it?

Most likely. Was heading to Merced, and this is my jumping off point for Yosemite camping. You live in Walnut Creek?

Glad you made it to a hotel safely. I was going to ask you at about 10pm how you were but I figured you were driving and didn't want to bother you to respond to me. Was nice meeting you, I love your truck!

I live in Concord as was coming home, just saw you for a second as I was heading north, it's the color and bumper that caught my eye, think you had your grill lights on.

lolol Why would I have guessed that?! Great meeting you, too, and thank you! There are some awesome PVC sliders at BAMF being worked on.. yours? ;)

lolol YES! Defnitely me. I didn't realize they were on until I hit Merced. The new BAMF grill bracket made a better ground connection than the crappy one I made, so the lights actually work now! Good meeting you, man!
