NorCal Skiing and BS Thread

I went to kirkwood today. Driving home now. When I get home I'll put up pictures and some videos I took on my gopro. It was amazing though.

Dude. Kirkwood yesterday was soooo stiff. Super wet snow. Tons of people and tracked out real quick. But still fun. At least you can go where you want to go. And everything is covered. North star today.

 

Where did you ride at kirkwood? Where I went it was nice.

the wall wasn't open. they opened chair 6 when i was there. i was there monday and the snow was so firm it wasnt very nice on untouched patches. but groomers were fun, the park at ns and heav were fun. this is a good base, just waiting now for another layer. once it cools down and snows a little this week it will be awesome. ill be back up after that

 

Ugh I'm at NS right now and it's windy and slushy and icy. It's like spring skiing plus shitty.

 

Going to Alpine tomorrow.

Yeah in the stupid terrain park... And this is why I never go there. Ugh.
Doctor on base told me he doesn't want me skiing for another month. Thankfully the conditions are shitty but if in some slim chance it gets better I'm going to be quite pissed.

 

That is why i no longer hit the big jumps. That and i blooo my knee out. As i get older i do less and less jumping. I still like too just cant afford the time off.

 

Went to Alpine today. It was terrible this morning. Softened up this afternoon so it wasn't bad for this season.

Ended up on either North Peril or Peters Peril, which I'm fine with, but my wife was not.... She ended up taking a slow speed fall that tumbled her 75' down before she could stop. Brushed herself off and finished the day.

 

Correction. I think it was waterfall.



It was a miserable climb back up to get her gear.


Overall still a decent day though.

 

Going to Northstar Friday, Saturday, Sunday and it looks like a storm is coming in. Hopefully its snow and not rain.

 

I'm thinking about taking Friday off and heading up to the mountains.
