I hope it's a record year. Even though I live about a mile from the levees on Feather River.

Now they're saying the El Niño will mainly hit SoCal and NorCal will have another drier than normal year, read it this morning. Really really hope they're wrong. We need a good snow year bad

Might need to make a trip to Mt Hood this year if Tahoe doesn't get dumped on.

I don't think we'll know until winter is actually here. I just read a report that said norcal will get 30-40% more than a normal year...

I saw something similar. Which would be awesome since I've only lived here 2 years and haven't even seen a "normal" winter yet.

I'm right there with you. 17 MPG sucks no matter what gas prices are. I picked up a 2001 A4 Quattro to get me there this winter. I want to do a roof box but I am going to mod it to help MPG, not hurt it. I also have 59 days of leave saved right now plus the 2.5 I get every month... I plan on using a solid 30 over the winter.

I hear Kirkwood got a foot of snow ... not sure if that was at the base, or on top.

I would believe a foot, this was just below Silver Fork on M.E.T. a few minutes ago...

How far in until you were finally driving on snow? N/S road?

A little bit at N/S, I went to silver fork and turned around, nothing much on the road itself, it had been knocked down pretty good, still some snow on the side roads though...

One can never have too many light bars.
I was in Tahoe City all weekend and it was pretty bare everywhere except the resorts.
