HAHA the problem was air intake!!! my resonator was full of sand. my vehicle is completely responsive even when the engine is dead cold with the resonator off....

    I am such a fool.

    ...too much shit to list.
Time for a new air filter. If you've got sand in your intake resonator, then you must have a hole in your air filter or its a piece of shit.

Not to squash your happiness, but just FYI, sand is one of the worst things to get into your intake (and so is gobs and gobs of water). It will pit the pistons.

    +1 LoL

You want sound, get a muffler, its just as ineffective! I honestly laff inside a little every time I see an aftermarket intake on these trucks. I do however wanna see a follow up on our conversation the other day about the skewp. Word had it that there is actual potential and it does pull in air in its location.

hmmm Ive always believed that it didnt because the phenomenon where when there is rain water on the hood, and your driving it doesn't get blown off.

what theory did you guys have?

I don't know about a theory but someone was talking about a friend that tested the pressure inside the scoop and verified that it will catch the air. I don't know shit about ram air systems otherwise. If I was to build something of that such though I would probably have to build a seperate intake line and divide the stock with a servo valve for rainy days. Also to consider is the placement of the throttle body compared to the scoop.

Since we are all internet whores we see something online with documented results and we generally believe it. Makes me wonder the validity of those results.

mehh. for what I know. if you put a first gen hood on a second gen, the motor turns into the hilux diesel motor.

But really. If there are water beads on the hood and your driving around (45mph) the air will not blow the beads off.
