wow, sounds about right, dude you're lucky she didn't clear the hood, she would have come straight through the windshield, how fast were you going?
It's stories like yours is why I put the ridiculous amount of wattage on the front of my truck, at least it gives me a chance to see far enough ahead to hopefully avoid something like this

Its was 5:30 PM, someone else hit the fawn and momma came full run out of the brush, I hit the brakes on impact. I only have a spacer and AAL lift but it saved my life! In hindsight shes a fixer and I get a scooped hood! I tried for a Relentless Pl8 but not enough offset

Won't matter half the time with deer. In the last few months (including Tuesday morning of this week), I've had to slam on the brakes twice on the highway to avoid bucks. But my closest calls in the past were in daylight. They come running across the road right in front of you with no warning or you come around a corner and they're right there. Brighter headlights just don't help with deer IMO. If they're standing along the side of the road, they tend to stay there (I pass them eating along the shoulder all the time...used to see the same one every morning on the highway too).

And I worry all the time about hitting a deer like you did Tim. Glad you're ok.

I'm probably gonna set up the go pro but the plane is a B model so can't do anything crazy in it. FYI if you didn't know I work across the street from that museum:)

Oh, that's cool. That looks like so much fun. I've flown a little Beechcraft Skipper back when I was trying to get my license (it got cost-prohibitive!!) and it was a blast. Do friends of yours own the plane? Will you get to go up in it again?

I hate flying commercial. SOOOOO boring. Attendants are idiots, and ground crews don't care about getting you out on time.

Its a club plane. I don't know, gas it kinda expensive LoL.

It was! My head hurt from the 3 G maneuvers we did...
