^^ This is true! We are there to help each other, but for the most part, people will be doing most of the wrench turning themselves. We're just there to lend a hand if needed and to walk people through things that we have done already.

I'm sure your input on different things will be greatly appreciated though.

Just put my order in for a Uniden 880, 4' firestick, 18' cable, mount and PA speaker. I hope it makes it by Friday. Paid extra for faster shipping.

I'm probably going to cancel my trailer harness/bumper install if this comes in. Bill Penney has ordered me a new one since I cracked the old one. Plus, Kyle can list it in the next mod meet that this is the 5th time I have said I would move it.

We are going to have quite a few lifts going on and wiring for various things. I think Kyle and I will go and recon the trail Friday. But who knows. We will report what we find and I might throw a quick GoPro up of the place.

Nice, I've never seen that radio, but I dig the look of it.

What kind of mount did you get for the antenna?

Right on. We'll see how it tunes up there. The Relentless Fab mount that puts it up on the hood gets a lot more metal under it to work as a ground plane. If you take some braid and bond the hood to the firewall / fenders then you'll get an even better ground.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/relentless-fabrication/96238-other-relentless-fab-products.html

There's a lot of physics, but basically a "ground wire" doesn't do jack for RF grounding. Electrical currents at radio frequency don't behave the same way DC does, so if you've got continuity on a meter it doesn't necessarily mean that it will work as a ground plane.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade. It may end up working fine. Although CB isn't an FM mode, I still like the phrase. "It's FM. F'ing magic." lol
