^^ This... back in the day it was "cable select" for drives after the jumpers, but you could also be as old to remember the HDD type 1-49ish? or enter Cyl,Sec and the other 3rd one I cannot remember. Its ultra easy now; just remember to take time AND ground yourself!

You can get a legit licence of ebay for Win10 pro for like 10$ so go that route for cheap if needed. Dual or triple boot with partitioned ssd depending on what else you want to get "into".

Kid with cancer near Martinsburg WV, loves jeeps and will most likely not see his next birthday. I am aware we are not "jeepahs" but anyways:

    Also need some guidance please:
Working in WV for a WV based company but living in VA. How does the tax stuff work? I see a reprocity agreement between VA and WV but having a hard time figuring out the opposite. Can someone either point me in the right direction for this or even better have direct experience with living in the Commonwealth of VA but doing work in WV?

You should only pay VA state tax. I work in MD, but live in VA. I only pay VA state taxes.

@Darkgoatracer I'd also recommend avoiding OEM or Builder licenses at this point if you see one... Windows 10 is now a rolling release so I've found it easiest to bite the bullet and buy straight from Microsoft so you have a digital record of the code.

    A thing or two...
Never wore a grounding strap for any pc I've ever built. Don't shuffle around on the carpet in your socks and touch the case before touching any components, and you'll be fine.

Ditto. And I've built them on a carpeted floor. As in leaning over it and putting parts in.

Thats what I understood but need to get some more confirmation.

Not going to argue here but major disagreement on the above statement. That would be a resume generating event if I see you touch equipment without a grounding strap in my shop. Consider yourself lucky that you have not had a static discharge. Some other engineers here are will most likely agree and tell you the same.

^^^^ Agreed. It's your system so feel your free to assembly it however you wish, but a static strap is a good precaution and a minor inconvenience when you consider that today's components are more susceptible to static than in the past. I've built all of mine, and on the job, over the years and still use a mat and strap whenever I open a system up.

Let me know if anyone is looking for Predator step bars (in great shape). I am prepping for skids/sliders, so the step bars and trd skids are coming off. Family price!

So I'm trying to track down a thunk coming from the rear of my truck that I outlined in this post https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/thunk-in-the-rear.699671/ As a result I'm trying to find a garage that can check my shocks and perhaps fill them with nitrogen. Anyone have a suggestion for a shop that could do something like this? I don't know any suspension rebuilding places around.

What kind of shocks do you have?

Gotcha, just making sure you don't have oem shocks or something silly. I commented before I read your thread, and just went and read it. That's a very pronounced thud.

Shock pressure is a fickle bitch because there is such a low volume of gas in there. Just by checking the pressure, a tiny bit bleeds off and can throw off the shocks. I would unbolt the lower shock mounts with the truck on it's own weight. Pry the shock out of the lower shock mount and see if the shock extends on its own. If it does (should take a few seconds to fully extend) then there is pressure in the shocks.

That would help rule them out with a simple and free test.

I have the day off so I'll try this out right now. It also just occurred to me that if I disconnect the shock, jump on the truck and the sound goes away I will have found my culprit.

So it was definitely something related to my shocks because when I removed them the sound went away.

Shocks were in good working order. I'm gonna chop it up to poor installation because it looked like the base of the shock was rubbing. Upon reinstall the sound is gone.

Thanks for the input. I plan on going steel for cost savings. Unsure on finished or raw and going local for finishing.
