What Randy said. The main harness is around the same area. I have at least 5 billion wires coming through it.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I looked at that. It's where my ditch and aux fogs are. There's probably enough room, the harness is about 3/8" thick. I was running out of time tonight so I didn't persue it. I have to remove the other wires to have enough room, which I'll have to do anyway.

I don’t poke it through the grommet itself, if that makes sense. I’ll lift up the lower edge of the grommet and route it between that gap. Have probably too many wires down there and no leaks at all for what it’s worth.

The fogs are run that way. I'd be worried about water intrusion with the cable as thick as it is. It's in a 3/8" tubing which would leave quite a gap. I'll look at once I have the current wires removed and may look at going through the grommet instead of around it. Good or bad idea?

That’s a pretty significant sized wire so your concerns are valid. You could do this.

I considered that. And then my lack of experience pretty full firewall pushed it to the back burner. I actually had that grommet in my Amazon cart at one point when this idea started to percolate. That's probably the better route. Guess I better find my big boy pants.

Now where is that "dislike" button... :D

Seriously though, some of the newer and more hipster (is that still a thing?) juicy/hazy IPAs out there have me making that face. No thanks. It's frankly enough already...if I wanted alcoholic orange juice, I would just use vodka. Now a traditional West Coast IPA?

Edit: edited because apparently I can't spell.

On 2nd and 3rd gens there is a 3/4” grommet up near brake booster on driver side. Way easier than using the main firewall boot, and that grommet is replaceable should you ever want to.

While I was at it yesterday, added a little interior accent since the dash was apart.
