Just an FYI for you guys, I called High Tech Auto in Chantilly for an estimate for the Cab Mount Chop out of curiosity, and they quoted me $170 for everything, including cutting, welding, and re-painting.

Blacked out emblems, 50% Tint, Bilstien 5100 Adjustables in front, AAL in the rear. Soon...debadged, Satoshi grill, possible tube doors if I can find the right shop.
Evenin' all. Just checking this forum out because I'm focusing on getting the truck to her best and didn't know there were that many folks this close to Quantico/Stafford. Be prepared for me to ask alot of questions haha.

I think it's a little high, but that includes labor, so doing it yourself is obviously cheaper. I have no access to a welder, or an angle grinder for that matter, so if I ever go to 285's, I'll have to figure something out. Most likely going to 255/85/16's, but I was just curious about the price for a shop to do it.

Welcome! Just try and search on here, or what you can do is use Google. Type in the problem you want to find more about, then either type in TacomaWorld, or search just the problem. Then, one of the results will probably be from TacomaWorld. Look for a little link under the TW result, and it will say something similar to "Look at all results from TacomaWorld.com." If you don't find it there, come in this thread and we'll try and answer it!

I had seen it advertised for 150 somewhere too.. But, Wild, thats a very generous offer.

I have a sawzall, and a grinder, just no welder.

Skygear, I saw this while looking through the Unique Mod thread. Rear winch on a stock bumper. Thought it was pretty cool. I know you said you wanted an aftermarket, but here's another idea.

    Interesting :drevil:
I dont need it done at the moment but it probably wouldnt hurt. My 255s clear everything but the plastic inner fenders. And thats cause every time i go in for alignment they never seem to set the caster high enough.

Welcome and we are always glad to help in this thread. Just be advised if you start a new thread in the general forum areas asking questions you will probably get flamed for "not searching" especially if it is a FAQ

LOL - no need to prove your lean is gone. We all saw the cool stuff in the back you were planning to install. But I vote for tuesday after next too - 2/19

I just added LED's on a pin switch in my bed and would love to show off a little ;)

And I got the wifes stamp of approval to do a 6" fabtech lift...any opinions from you guys on that?

I have 33s on now so I plan to add 35s and rear gears once the tread wears down more on my 33s. I looked around for some pics and it does not look too terrible with a 6" on 33s.

6" is pretty tall. Better have good steps for her to get up in the truck.

6'' lifts, especially with drop brackets (which are really the only option I think) look very "mall crawly" to me. The DB lift gives you height, but you gain literally no ground clearance. I just think the Tacoma is too small of a truck to be rolling with a 6'' lift and 35's. 3'' suspension lift and 33's are about the limit of what I think the Tacoma looks good with. But, in the end, it's your truck. :D

And Jon, what's your availability from the week of the 17th? :anonymous: Hopefully I'll have the Demello in my then...

6 inches. wow. I wouldn't. but that's just me, I am a big fan of doing just as much lift as is needed to run the tire size you want. 35's will also be a much greater strain on your drive train. AND I have personally never been a big fan of fabtech... there, those are my opinions ;)

ok, 2/19 meet for those of us that cant make it to hooters this upcoming tuesday.

where to meet? chantilly hooters? or buffalo wing university? hooters will have better attire on the ladies.. BWU might have available ladies to flirt with ;)

who am I kidding? we're truck guys, at most we'll eat, then go outside to talk trucks...

This guy's truck is one of the few that I really like with 35's. He has All Pro LT, but he does pretty standard wheeling (not desert running), and it looks like an offroad machine.

And I think Chantilly Hooters would be good. (02/19) I can actually make that meet I think!
