If you plan to off-road with your truck I would not do a 6" lift.

You lose overall ground clearance and raise your center of gravity even higher which can get dicey when the truck starts leaning heavily.

Also, skid plates and other armor pieces are hard to find when you have a drop bracket.

Shaggy - You should send a PM to RuggedT. He has had a 6" drop bracket (not sure of brand) and a suspension lift. He would probably be the best person to ask about pros and cons of each setup depending on what you plan on with it. Seems like a pretty cool guy and very helpful with stuff like that.
edit: heres his build page: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-builds/225147-ruggedts-build.html

Nah, no dessert here, but if you're wanting 35's my vote is for a lift that is more useable than mallable.. Heck, I love not caring about speed bumps on my set up, I'd love to have a full long travel set up, but I can't justify it for an overland rig that I'll never use to fly over rough terrain.

Sorry Matt I just saw this. I'm off the 16th, 17th and 18th (Federal Holiday :woot:) but I'll have the kids after lunch on those days since the wife is working.
I could also help the evening of the 21st or 22nd and should be available on the 23rd and 24th.

So you think maybe the 17th you could help in the morning, or I could even come to your house after lunch so you could still watch the kids? I don't want to impose anything on you.

That might work let me see. I can check and see if the in-laws would be able to watch the kids for a bit on Sunday, that way if I'm not done by the time my wife leaves there will be someone to watch them. Then either I could come to your place and I can bring my tools over if needed or you could bring your bumper to my place and use the garage. Not many tools needed really. I used the impact, made for removing the stock bolts nice and quick.
It's hard to watch the little one and do anything else at the same time :)

i would skip full LT but a small 2" over LT would be good like the All Pro or TC kits. If I had a 4x4 on the east coast thats definitely what i would do. 35s if I was doing some hard offroading and minimal to no commuting

It sounds like most people can't make it this week so I think we have moved it until next week - hooters. That's just what I've gathered from my lurking.
