Yeah that is definitely nice and ill miss that, but the rack and tent will be low enough that it'll be kinda hard for people to reach in, open an action packer and what not.. Plus no one can figure out how to open my rear swing out so they won't be able to open the tail gate (people over think it)

But the dust will suck, oh well have to compromise something to gain something.

It really depends what tent you go with.. Mine is the ruggedized model and weighs a good 35-40lbs heavier than the normal model which doesn't help, and i've been perfectly fine so far.. I know plenty of people run them on their roof and do just fine, just depends on how high you want it.

Rear bumper was put on at the end of June I think.. I definitely had a "mod crazy" time in my life. Next up is warn winch, lockers/regear and 650lb or 700lb coils, and then new LCA's later down the road. I've had a box from the retrofit source sitting in my room for the last 2 months.. :spy:

Thanks man! Been quite the project. Going to do some investigating tomorrow, a rattling/metal on metal sound started in the passenger front wheel well.. Yesterday it was constant, parked the truck for 2 hours and then went away. Now its only when I turn left. Only thing I can think is its a wheel bearing?

Yep couldn't decide what I wanted yet and it is nice 1 side was left open so I can reach in and grab things if needed. Thought of putting some maxtraxs on that open side tho

That's what I'm thinking, Id like to get the weight of the hi lift off my swing out, not really a problem but makes the swingout that much heavier to close.

Thanks! I hope it is a bearing and nothing worse. I'm at 132k miles now so it's time to replace them anyway.

I don't know how the second gens are set up, but check steering knuckle bushings. I was having that rattling and thought it was a wheel bearing, but those ended up being okay enough. I just needed to replace a special oil/dust seal and to put some grease on the knuckle bushings and the noise went away.
    Good luck!

The steering was the next thing for me to check! Hopefully it's something that simple, thanks!

It might not be in that area. Check for a loose bed mount to the frame. 2nd gens get loose on the front passenger mount a lot. It really sucks.
