The stuff in the windows? That’s just reflectix to keep some heat out and hopefully keep the fridge from kicking on as much as it does (it’s always on)

not much in terms of updates or trips. Work and family are taking up all my time but a lot of pending projects and trips in the works.

TW Calendars have arrived! I Snagged October for my B-Day! I love that when I show my 4 year old he tells me he misses Baja and wants to go back. Def a fun father and Son trip last year.

 

Tons of work happening next week but naturally before hand the truck starts making a ton of noise in the driveline. U Joints we’re toast or about toast and carrier bearing was sloppy as hell. When I pulled the intermediate shaft no washer or 24mm but was to be found.

Let there be light!!!! Black Friday orders finally arriving and getting installed. linkable XL kit by @Baja Designs is one rad setup. Some more goodies will go on once the new BAMF bumper is ready. Hopefully any week now.

 

Big changes to the front end of the truck recently. Most of this stuff has been gathering dust the past year waiting to get installed. Due to time constraints and my lack of welding I reached out to Schaffers Offroad in Union City to help get the goods dialed in.

+2 TC LT with Total Chaos Spec King Coilovers w/ 700lb springs with TC spec bypasses


JD Fab Lower Pivot kit but mainly for extra beefiness. Not using any of the pivot portions. Also not pictures are UCA double sheer gussets, Nes JD Fab Spindle Gussets, and Double sheer kit


After a couple of years finally got the rear drums swapped out for a disc setup. Took so long to get around to it that I upgraded to the stoptech BBK. The parking Brake sucks (prob needs some adjustment) but stopping wise is great for this heavy truck



Also added a large crossbar to the rear of the bed to tie the rear shock setup together. I may be forgetting some things but this was a heavy trip. Also got some new rear wheel bearings while I was in there.

 

One thing that has become a pain is heat issues. Transmission is taking the brunt of it. Recently got mostly a full replacement when I did the Ratiotek shift kit but it's hurting. The weight of the trucks combined with the added S/C the Trans hates me. out in Anza on a hill climb, it got up to 275 before I was able to stop and was sitting in the lower 220s for longer than I like it. I kept it easy but it was time to finally upgrade the trans cooler. Picked this Derale up a while ago but had not got around to it. I still need to do another drain and fill and check for leaks but mostly ready to go. It was perfect timing as picked up my new BAMF hybrid bumper a couple of weeks ago. I had planned to swap it in when the bumper arrived. More updates on that once I get the trans cooler situated.

Added one with a fan to help keep the transmission happy and help when at a standstill or climbing. Last year coming back from Baja waiting in line at the border the truck was not happy either sitting at 220-240ish.

Once I dig it further I still need to install my e-fan setup, possibly 160 thermostat, and seal up the fan shroud better.
