Yeah I have measured about 100 already lol. Thanks for the reference pics pretty much what Chris said and right at the tail light then. I may actually consider popping out the taillight. Looks like that gives you a pretty good line.

I drew my line along a chunk of cardboard so I could warp a straight line on the tape. I didn’t remove my flares they got cut at the same time. Stood back and eyeballed. Walked away for a bit came back to take a fresh look liked it and cut it. The edge trim is where the magic is. Pretty easy to fix any little bobbles if you get one.

I just straight up drew mine on with sharpie like a week before. That way I could look at it for awhile and decide if it was good. Edge trim does cover all mistakes

Hello everyone, new to the forums and brand new to Tacomas. Previous rig was a 00' 4cyl Ranger that hauled everything that I put in the back and got amazing mileage. Some *basic* vanity mods on it but ill spare you from my embarrassment explaining those. It was starting to show its years so I wanted to get another utility rig that wasn't full sized, decent with mileage and something I could hang on to forever. Toyota was an obvious choice. Grabbed this 21' in Nov 21' as "used" with 7.5k miles. It was a very lucky find. Still has physical key to start if you can believe that.

Just looking for a decent shop or some one who does mechanical work on the side here in Seattle. Im looking to install a front end leveling kit (2" strut plate insert) on my stock 21' Tacoma SR 4x4 access cab. I dont have the set up to do any suspension/drive train type of work and the shops are all quoting 4 hours which doesnt seem right.

    Thanks

Haven’t gone all in yet as I got busy yesterday.

Yeah I kind of wish I kept the fender flares on for the cut. I got some bush whackers that are cut by the previous owner but they don’t line up with the OEM holes so kind of thinking to use the original fenders and cut them. My originals are scratched to shit anyways.

Wasn’t too bad. Will admit one side went a bit worse than the other, notice the jump up in the middle lol…. Still have room before the tail light to clean it up more if I’d like. Like the above said liner should take care of it. It’s a wheeler so :sawzall:

Did you use a hacksaw to cut it? Lol. How'd it get so wobbly?

Fair call lol, maybe uneven ground I am working on. Clearing the garage for the final cuts. Nah I had an angle grinder but caught the ruler I was using to guide on the second one and can say that it’s probably worse to have that involved for that reason.

    All good man.

Hacksaw may have been straighter for me. It’s kind of funny in the end as I was going to try to use the new shiny Dremel with extension for “detailed cuts” but figured that wouldn’t be the best for the big cut.

I am going to line for final hope tomorrow and decide if grinding down from here is better or not since it’s such a smaller remaining cut.

Thats what I do on fender cuts, I use a finer grit flap disk to massage everything down/straight. Retape the cut line, and just take your time and go nice and easy until you reach the line!
