Mine rub there too so I had to trim my Bushwhackers a little more at the front. Do you have a shackle flip?

No. No shackle flip. Currently only an Icon AAL in the back. Switching to the All Pro Expos sometime soon.

I am convinced at this point that my rear set up from the factory was somehow F CKED. Everyone else says they run 285s with not one ounce of rubbing with no trimming at all. That has never been the case for me. Day 1 with 285s and I was on the way to trimming. Started with the back edge of the front fender flares, then when I went on some trails, the back gave me hell when flexed. PITA.

Hey. If nothing else, I have a great head start on even bigger tires.

OK. I thought maybe the shackle flip on mine was forcing the tire forward. But it sounds like it affects even an OEM shackle set up.

Do you have bump stops in place?

Nothing beyond the stock little pyramid. I will have proper stops in place when I upgrade the leafs.

Me too. Figured since I broke the fender flare, might as well start with the bushwackers trimmed up for clearance and just give myself plenty of clearance. New leafs are next on the list.

whats currently lifting the rear? AAL? you have very sad looking rear OEM leaf springs? causing maybe not enough lift in the rear which would cause the 285's to be closer to the fender to begin with maybe. I'm just shooting out options here.

If you plan on buying Dakar packs shoot either @Gramps or myself a PM

Yeah its a single Icon AAL. Not a fan myself. Its what came with the kit from Toytec (Fox Ultimate). I plan to get the All Pro Expeditions. Liked the DAKARS but hear too many horror stories on squeaking.

@teamhypoxia eats the front of his rear wheel wells hard with 285s. Probably depends a lot on what leaf pack you have and where it centers the axle. I think aftermarket packs all move the axle back just slightly.

A pair of axle relocation plates could probably solve the issue.

so I'm curious if thats whats causing it, leaf spring sag making it almost 0 lift. Good thought @NYCO @Gramps if you still had the un cut fenders id ask to measure center of hub to bottom of fender but thats not an option anymore :D

as brett mentioned, aftermarket leafs should change the geometry and move that axle back as many of us have seen

Just skimmed the conversation since nickelodeon tagged me....
Could it have anything to do with DC vs AC (cab not electricity)?
