Brute Force Fab high clearance rear with swing out and fold down table. Pretty excited to get some extra clearance back there

Guess since Obama didn't get DAPL (or won't once the Trump admin moves in) he had to leave a final mark somehow. Hopefully this gets reversed or at least the size of Bears Ears gets lessened in the future.

Meh, it's not all doom and gloom, have to wait and see how it plays out, places like Grandstand Staircase National Monument have minimal development and are still great places to drive around for days and not see the same thing twice.

i really hope so...i never saw the GSENM before it was a NM, so i only know of it how it is in the last 8 or so years...

same with this area..first time in the area was 5 or so years ago and been digging deeper ever since...and it's nice how it is now with the remoteness and still almost "untouched" feel

you're right with GSENM, you don't really notice any outside involvement in many areas down there...but i do not know how it was before hand and whether areas were closed off after the declaration

I hadn't been to GSENM before it was declared a NM either, but the only paved road I can think of is in the north end at Kodachrome Basin State Park, which may not even be in the actual NM. They have been shutting areas down though with the "Wilderness Study Area" BS excuse, its frustrating, but a couple mile hike will get you into most wilderness/WSA restrictions.

On the flip side, if the Feds don't protect the land it could be whore'd out to private interests for mining/petroleum extraction. Selling the lands for private interest would probably open up more tracks/roads out in back country areas but could shut others down if they are on "private land". Its all a double edged sword whether its the Feds/state/private enterprises owning the land.

On the plus side, Bears Ears is tucked away from the main tourist circle Arches/Bryce/Zion so hopefully its visitorship/stewardship will be similar to GSENM.

a big move would be to keep all the roads dirt and less maintained which will help reduce traffic...and keep things fun for us :D
