    Nice move on the one piece drive shaft. I will keep that driveline shop in mind if I ever bash mine up. Keep us posted on how is holds up to miles and off roading

    i actually got a plain grille off rock auto that was black already, so i added some flat on it to match the bumper more...

    i'll be doing some touch up work on it before moab hopefully...

    but i always hear painting chrome is a pain, especially something exposed to the elements like that, so i went that route

    Ah - that's a good idea. Gonna go search Rock Auto now. Chrome just doesn't match anything anymore :cool:

    The write up for painting the chrome grille. I would honestly recommend going another route though. I used that exact process, and it turned out okay, but is already chipped around the edges in a couple of spots. And, after buying all the paint and what not, you're really not saving that much money...

    exactly my concerns and why i went the route i did...


    only chrome i've painted was my headlight bowls...they're chipping and need touch up, but i didn't do too much prep on that, just wipe down and use krylon for plastics on it..

    I've got some Plasti Dip laying around that I might try first. It may stick a bit better than the paint - plus I can just peel it off if it doesn't come out good :)

    and if it doesn't work, $40 for a plain grille isn't that much for a non-chrome base to work with..

    i've been thinking about taking mine off to repaint and see how the color match would look on it

    Exactly. The only thing that would make me try to plasti dip mine first, is the Grillcraft grill I have. It was a pain to cut the stocker up and get it to fit right, which I would have to do again if I get the Rock Auto grill.

    The Grill Craft was a gift from the wife, so I can't ditch it :eek:

    just got word i'm good to go for Cruise Moab this year! :woot:

    gotta do some "work" while i'm out there, but i'm pumped!


    also placed an order for another ATO product :D

    along with some defined shackles and eventually new springs, i'll have a new rear setup soon (maybe by summer's end)...

    hope i don't need new shocks :eek:
