Yes splitting between 2 shops is what I ment.
The right box wrench will sneak down the wire.
Yes they are a pita to unplug
I have about 8 different wrenches and sockets for these sensors And still sometimes it's never quite enough.... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Heheheeh

    Good luck

Ya know Mike, I've been wrestling with the idea of doing this myself, mainly because of the cost, but after sleeping on it another night I decided to have the dealer do it. I called this morning and made the appointment. I kept thinking as long as everything went well, it would be worth it. But, after I've already purchased the parts online, I'm really into it. What if I can't get to that connector? What if I don't have the right tool? What do I do if after my work is done that there's still some sort of a problem? My gut tells me let them do it AND be responsible for the outcome. Plus, my back has a way of messing with me and I can see needing a chiropractor after all is said and done! LOL......Sorry for any inconvenience. You sure stepped up to the plate to help a guy out. Thank you for that.

Oh my pleasure to help. I help when I can as long as the person isn't being a dick... Hehehehehe
After 40 years I know all about chiropractors and surgery so I feel your pain.
As far as the connector you have to be inventive. They just don't come apart real easy. Sometimes using a long screwdriver as a long finger helps. They change the angles at will so you have no idea what it looks like until you see it.
If they do it then the parts are warr. 12/12 I believe. If your parts are warr. Then it would only be the part and not the labor because its not bought there.
Then you would be in the same boat again if the sensor was an issue down the road. If your going to do this on the ground then you might be making the right move and having them do it.
Let me know how things turn out..

    Mike...

Hey Mike.......well the sensors got replaced today. I guess all went well. No other unexpected issues showed up. They applied the diagnostic fees I had already paid toward todays' repair. It cost me $623.00 today. So far no dash lights are illuminated so I guess it's all good. I'll keep my fingers crossed the other remaining sensors don't go bad too. They gave me a new Rav 4 to use while the work was being done. I really liked it. It was loaded with all wheel drive and leather interior. Too bad you can't tow a boat with it......

2012 4cyl 4x4.I found all comments on this subject useful.thanks to all.i had code p0138 witch is downstream 02 sensor and after replacing it, the code always came back every couple of days.so I replaced the upstream air/fuel 02 and problem fixed.i guess if the the front gives false reading the second one is the one that detects a fault by reading a difference greater or less than normal.thanks again.
