Lol. I did that before. Not to that level but it did completely melt the light down. I don’t have an oven in my house so I decided to use my mother’s oven to bake it open while they were on a trip.
300 at 10 minutes yielded a plastic blob. When my parents returned they asked if I came over to use the oven cause their was some burnt plastic that I apparently missed in the cleanup still in the oven. I told them my story and my mom causally tells me that the temp gauge is wrong and it runs a bit hotter o_O
Thankfully it was an extra set of lights
Now I cut open all my lights

Like going down on a motorcycle, it’s not if, it’s when (and how many times)

Not sure if my wife would buy into me doing it again ahaha!! She hates the smell. If the price is right I could do them but honestly I hate doing it. It’s really time consuming to do it right, I’ve gouged myself with a screwdriver enough times, and the house smells like crap for 2 days. I’m gonna sell my headlights eventually and just pick up some 2020s LEDs.

2020 LEDs probably aren't going to be better than what you have now, and likely going to ballpark around $2,500 given how expensive current lights are.

It's definitely a PITA, but doable. Think of it this way, if you fuck up your BHLM you'd still have to shell out $400+ for aftermarket lights which is around the cost it'd run to have someone else do it.

Start to finish did it all in a day. So far mine have held up great. Saved a ton of moolah. Don't be shy with the silicone as an extra seal

The light only needs to be in the oven for a couple minutes at that. To reseal, TRS sells some real quality butyl. I've done a few and about to redo the ones on my taco to a d2s projector.

those are the ones, they are RX350 projectors but bolt in although they do require a little cutting to clearance for the solenoid. They are a good upgrade if you are opening up to do the BHLM anyway. Not worth doing if you aren't modding anything else in the lights though. the S2000 in the Civic will be a real nice upgrade

I already did the BHLM mod, but one of the halos went out. I'm Also going to add an LED switchback strip in the housing. So since I'm opening them, may as well upgrade lol.
    The s2000 projectors are tits!!
