How clean are the cuts on the hose ends? When I first cut mine WITHOUT an air line cutter some leaked. I think because the cuts were not straight and also bent the hose so it wasn't perfectly round anymore. Then WITH the air line cutter it had straight and clean cuts which eliminated all leaks. Any more close up photos of the fittings you are running? Any D.O.T. rating markings?

There are no marks...they are from smittybilt. They leaked so bad the tank won't hold air for more than a minute or so. I think I am going to use 1/4" barb push to lok fittings from manifold to tank and use 1/8" barb for the air gauge.

    Seem ok??

I plan on it. The tank is good but the fittings were clearly garbage. The hose seems okay

You think the barbs will work good?
I'm going offroading Friday so those I can get local and in time

The barbs will work fine. They are commonly used to repairing hoses. You just want them to be a tight fit getting the hose on the barbs and then use a small hose clamp as a "backup" of sorts. Most barb fittings have a max PSI but if i remember right most are 150 PSI or so

Replaced all the fittings today and still having leaks. How tight are you suppose to go?! Also how much wraps of Teflon tape? I loose about 5-10 psi every 20 mins. The air pressure sensor and one of the barbs is leaking... Both leaking at the threads

How tight; if it is metal to metal tighten them down. Metal fitting into plastic be careful. I normally wrap 7-10 rounds, and also use a little silicone. Let it set good.

Oh wow I only did 2 wraps. I hope I didn't tighten too much and warp anything. It's a viar manifold so it's either alum or metal...very sturdy

I would. Remove the old tape and start again. When you tighten you should be able to feel it get tight. Just like you when you tighten bolts.

Should I use the paste instead? Yeah I tightened it as tight as I could with a smal 1/4" ratchet

Try it again with a bit more tape. I usually go 3-4 wraps. if metal to metal Ill use a 3/8 size ratchet and tighten down. If plastic to metal...stick with the 1/4" ratchet.

Im not a fan of the paste personally.

Air setups can be weird and just a 1/8" inch turn more can seal it up. Just have to find the leak and play with it a bit and see.

Dear God no... 2 wraps should be fine, never would I think of 7-10... Your threaded connections should be NPT or BSP either way tapered and don't need torqued down.

Ditch the tape and get some loctite 545 thread sealant.

Yeah I used a 1/4" npt to 1/8" bsp...that doesn't leak at all...only the pressure switch and one barb. How muh of the sealant do you use?

I use a small line down the threads, not slathered all around. It doesn't take much, it will cure under pressure (from tightening the fitting).

I'll give it a try. Hopefully didn't ruin anything by over tightening
