Yeah f*** that noise. I have three or four air tools I inherited from my Dad. I don't have the heart to throw them away, so collecting dust in a box until I give them away or donate them.

 

It's definitely worth having and seeing how different the numbers are with similar/the same tires and compressors.

You're right on @windsor if the tank has a reserved capacity of 100PSI@1,2,3,5,10 gallons... it will surely assist in speed of filling one or multiple tires.

Haha I just put quite a bit of thought into this before deciding on the single but everybody keeps telling me to get a twin to save a few min. Just not my thing right now.

I would absolutely love to get a twin if I got the deal @inv3ctiv3 got.

 

I use 1/2" drive for everything because 3/4" is overkill. I do need to pick up a set of tourqe sticks for my truck tool bag but right now I feel very comfortable with the arrangement that I have.

And as to inherited tools. My grandfather instilled this into my mind. "I can't make tools, fasteners, or chain so for that reason I'll never get rid of them."

Cut and rewelded the brackets to suit my needs. Rotated 90 degrees to get the drain port facing down when mounted. Also measured and placed the brackets to fit between the channels in the bed.




Sat recessed up so it wasn't the lowest hanging point.

Sounds like a good idea but there are a lot of variables to consider than just tire size, compressor model etc.

Some of the things that may factor in:
Each individual tire manufacturer/brand/type
Having a tank - and size
Compressor location and amount of line in between compressor and coupler(s)
ID and length of hose
Battery voltage

Mine was a manual drain from AccuAir. I really liked it. Does a hell of a job separating the water. Even after rainy days and days with lots of moisture in the air, it never let water into the tank. When I went to drain the tank after a few months of use, there was nothing in there. It was much better quality than the cheap crap from the local hardware stores.
