Yeah, if I needed it now I probably would have just bought the one off of Amazon. For now I'm just going to use sealant tape on a quick disconnect attached directly to the compressor. Since it's only a temp solution I don't need the loctite yet.

Anyone have any idea what would be the best solution for keeping your fittings that are externally mounted, maintained?

Is there a lubricant/protectant that I should apply to my fittings?

I have an on board air set up with frame mounted air points behind each tire. I want to protect them with something, but not sure what would work good as a protectant and what I should avoid.

 

Keep a cap on em and use a couple drops of air tool oil here and there.

 

A rubber folding chair foot is what some use (7/8" I think) as a cap for their qr fittings. I'd also put it on a chain so it doesn't get lost. A more expensive option is a male qr plug fitting that is made specifically for this. I can think of one that is anodized but not the name.

 

Hydraulic coupler dust caps.

 

Only down side is they have a hole in the center still.

I just saw a friend getting one of these ready for a truck he's building (lifted show truck), and wondered if anyone was running one

For that kind of money you can get a much better 100% duty compressor.

Any concerns with heat/noise with it in the cab? Install looks good.

 

Do you have the ARB dual compressor?

If so, do you have it mounted in the Slee bracket?

If so, have you ever had one of the relays go bad?

If so, it there a way to open up the compressor without uninstalling the whole thing?

I'd wager no

 

Just going by the exploded view of the twin there are 4 screws that hold the center cover in place, all on the end opposite the black "ARB" compressor heads. The relays are under that cover at the same end as those screws. Check your harness plugs, fuses, and ground first as well as your switch fuse.

 

I've been over a lot of that already.

It started when I would flip the switch to turn the compressor off and it kept on running. After some trouble shooting I figured out that only one side was not shutting off. The other side worked fine.

So I believe that either the troublesome side has it's relay stuck "on" or a pressure switch is not doing its job. Either way, I'm going to have to tear it apart.
