Question for those of you who live in the great north.
How do these compressors (any really) stand up to below zero temps? If i have to fire the thing up at -15 degrees, will it fail me?

I wonder if the vibration from the compressor would eventually damage your fuse box?

Move the coupler all the way in. Also make sure you mount the compressor all the way to the inside. If to take the center cover apart you can loosen it to adjust the coupler.

I'm a newbie when it comes to onboard air but I have in mind what I'm going to use it for. I plan on running a rear locker being able to air up tires and use my train horn from all of it. Should a 3 gallon tank be enough or should I get a 5gal. Also water separator before or after the tank?

Train horn will be your biggest offender, size your system to that.

My twins have a 100psi shut off. According to ARB, anything higher blows the seal in the locker(s).

So I recently updated the air capacity in that I cut off my old sliders and installed a set from Marlin Crawler. I welded on the kickers at my desired angle, drilled holes in the tubing and welded on threaded bungs to accept air fittings. I did have them powder coated also. Both are plumbed and now hold air.
Prior to this, I'd relocated the rear shocks, which forced me to move the spare into the bed. The additional space allowed me to add a 2.5 gallon Viair tank. Not sure of the overall capacity but it's more than before.
Also, these pics show the Peterbilt fan clutch switch. When shut off, the entire air system purges along with any condensation.

So this is just an FYI post about how my ARB Twin Compressor died on me.

I had the compressor mounted in an Expedition Essentials Bedside Mount.
    https://expeditionessentials.com/co...oducts/toyota-tacoma-bedside-compressor-mount

I also have a HC bumper and my fender liners have been cut back a lot so the mount was kind of exposed to the elements.

So one day my compressor stopped working all together. I took the whole thing out finally to diagnose it and thought it was the pressure switch so I replaced that and no go.

Turns out it was actually both relays that were bad.
Water got into them and completely corroded them up.

It would have been nice if ARB had used waterproof relays.

^^ So true. Silicone works to seal up new relays. Patience (and plenty of rags) and all will work well.

To drain the condensation you need a purge at the low point of each storage tank otherwise your just bleeding off pressure but leaving the moisture behind.

The solenoid is at the lowest point for two locations. I won’t add a valve to the PS slider.
Honestly, these pieces are sacrificial and should they rust out before I damage them, so be it.

I do get a bit of a fog exiting the solenoid upon draining the system in the mornings. Not so much in the afternoons.

Has anyone extended their own Arb Twin compressor harness here instead of buying the $120 extended one?
Ive already tried the search bar to no avail, but if anyone might know of a write up i might be missing on it thatd be great. Trying to figure out what Can be eliminated and what needs to be extended.
