So, I'm installing a 5gal air tank at 150psi to blow some train horns. I thought maybe I'd also be able to use this tank for a source to re-inflate my 35" tires from 20psi to 35psi for a drive home after a little muddin. I did some research and it didn't look promising, so I broke out some old equations and did the math.

Givens: Tires are 35 x 12.5 on 18" rims. I used a tape measure and they're actually more like 34". Starting tires is 20psi and I'd like to get them to 35psi. Using a 5gal tank at 150psi.

After the math, filling just one tire as stated, the remaining pressure would be ~43psi in the tank.

So, NO - the 5gal tank at 150psi is not enough. I bought a 12v ViAir 100% duty cycle that's designed to re-inflate.

Let me know if anyone wants to double check my work. ;)
