Thanks for that. I didn't find that exact one but I've added one that's "shift status" in transmission and another that's "status of the shift info". Well see if one of those works.

Looks Good, FYI if you are wanting to do snapshots at the end of the journey then the little high limit ticks are useful...

Ah, I didn't realize thats what those did. I added them and I now see the reset "min/max". This app is VERY cool.

I cleaned up the gauge lines, warnings, numbers, etc and added a tach. Can I chance the 1000 thru 7000 numbers to 1 thru 7?

I believe there’s a multiplier option in the dial config.

    thanks

I feel dumb, finally figured out transparencies so I can multi gauge on android. Color scheme, layout, ranges, etc are still a work in progress but the POC was a success. Yellow ring SLU, red TC Lockup. I'll probably make the pan vs tc colors slightly different for needle, text, gauge ticks

There's a lot to this app. I've been messing with this on and off for nearly two months and still figuring things out. Nice job on the trans gauge. I kind of like the split gauge and may experiment with it so I can have an even larger gauge for the trans. I'm using my phone to display this info and it's working out great for me.

For anybody who’s inclined, I’ve been pinging the developer once a year or so asking for a linear gauge. Like a thermometer. It would be really space efficient. The more who ask, the more likely the development.

Sooo, I was cruising up hill from Portland to Bend (2,500ft climb n 22miles) at about 70mph in 5th @ 2,300rpm ish and I decided to hook my phone up to OBD fusion and was surprised to see the TC oil temps over 220’.

I admittedly drive bare foot so am pretty sensitive at feathering the throttle but was surprised to see that even whilst not towing I could get the TC to go above where I’d like. Obviously shifting to 4th or letting off the throttle a bit allowed the TC to lock up and temps drop but I’m just surprised to see those high temps unloaded. I’ve had it happen before with another serious climb whilst not towing.

It’d be interesting to know what temp is considers too hot according to Toyota…

Pan temps never went above 198.

I'd like to know too. I don't like Temps above 200 deg. I towed our 4000 lb travel trailer up a 500' in 1 mile ascend over the weekend and the TC reached 231 degrees (pan temp was 213 deg) for a few minutes until I crested the top of the mountain.

    Screenshot_20230326_132942.jpg

After cresting the mountain it cooled down to 215 deg in less than half a mile once the TC locked. Normal towing temp seemed to be 185 to 190.

He's not tuned. Will that help? I have an appointment to get KDMax next month.... it I don't tune myself before then.

500 in a mile is steep, guessing you were in 3rd? The TC doesn’t lock in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, if you’re in that position again drop to 2nd, get the revs high and get that fluid moving.
186’+/- is operating temp for the transmission, if you pin the transmission pan temps whilst cruising are typically around 170’ depending on ambient temps and road conditions. In 8k miles of towing miles I’ve never had the pan temp get over 200’.

May have to consider or switch to S4. Especially in PNW.
Thats the reason he was able to get to 2300 rpms in 5th. SLU was off.
I'm surprised it did not downshift. Good idea to add a calculated load to the monitor.
I have not seen slu being off on 2017 ecu ID at these conditions. I was pursuing this during early VF tuning days until I found the side affect.
I know that 2022 ecu is using updated TC locking/unlocking parameters that cause intermittent SLU off state at high loads and speeds.
Kdmax will help and assist with some customization if needed

Nope, stock. I towed a LOT last year and purposely reset the ECU and allowed the transmission to re-learn whilst towing. I personally feel my truck does awesome towing, can sit in 5th @63mph 2,200rpm for days. I feel my low end torque and mpg is above average.

The trans temps going high was on me in this instance I feel. But tbh I was climbing this hill and the truck felt awesome in 5th, in reality it needed 4th but felt right in 5th :)

22.5 mpg from Portland to Bend.

now you are aware. You have options if you are concerned about temps.

I couldn't seem to hold 3rd but was in S4. It's my understanding that the '23 Tacos don't have the additional cooler.
I have my Fusion dashboard set up like you do the gear selector shows lock up status as red or green warnings but there are times it doesn't display either.

    What's PNW?
I pretty much always in S4 when I was towing. But being in S4 doesn't seem to always keep the TC locked in 4th(even after the shift is complete).
I don't think my dashboard is currently monitoring SLU.... but only "lock up status" which is supposed to display red or green warning behind the gear status.
