i plan to once i get my dashboard setup. according to the oem it has a .05w sleep mode and is designed to leave plugged up.

PLX - "Power consumption - uses ultra low power (0.2 W active / 0.05 W sleep) allowing you to leave your device installed permanently in your vehicle".

LELink is $35, is BT and works with OBD Fusion on iOS. I use it in preference to WiFi adapters because WiFi adapters will not run in the background and I want to log while using maps.

Glad OBD Fusion added the Toyota specific to the iOS app - was waiting for that. Just purchased the add on.

Just got my Kiwi delivered today. Are there any reference websites or documents you're using to setup your dashboard(s)? I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment and trying to figure out most of what I'm looking at.

No. I just followed the in app tips & clicked on all the setting til I figured it out.

    To get started-
Select menu - add dashboard to add a new page of gauges. Then select - add display to add a gauge to the dashboard (page).

Once u add a display (gauge), u click on the gauge & hold to open options to configure the gauge.

Or u can select and change one of default the gauges.

That's about where I'm at, but the trial and error is time consuming. There's so many PIDs to choose from. About 80% of the ones I chose reported 0 readings. Basically I have all the temps working, but some others I've been toying with are not giving me anything.

For example, I think I left the first two dashboards with the default configs. The first dashboard (dials) all work except Fuel Rate. On the second dashboard (digital) O2 Sensor 1, Total fuel economy, and Instant fuel economy show 0's. (While driving obviously)

I agree - It's amazing what this app covers for $10. The map feature is cool - shows the data logs of a sensor on a map route.

I agree. I'll be using it this weekend for my tranny drain/fill. I'd like to do some better fuel tracking with it if I can though. Seems there isn't very good configuration info online though. At least that I've found yet. Even the Youtube videos are just product reviews.

Oddly enough, I ran diags with it and it had two historical codes: C1428 (Damper RR Circuit failure) and P1604 (Startability malfunction). They must be from before I owned it because I've had the truck since Feb. 2016 and have never seen a CEL.

To all who have posted on this topic of OBD Fusion's enhanced diagnostics, thank you, this was very helpful to me. I bought the Kiwi3 and downloaded the app and bought the enhanced package. I'm getting ready to do an ATF change, and I don't know which temp reading to use in determining when I'm at the proper temp for level check --- is it A/T Oil Temperature No. 1 or No.2?

I notice that No. 2 seems to warm up faster, so is it reasonable to assume that it is reading near the torque converter or the output to the cooler, while No. 1 is maybe in the pan or near the return line? And if so, which one is more appropriate for the level check?

Anyone who can shed light on this, I thank you in advance!

No. 1 is the pan temperature, No. 2 is the temp at the torque converter.

For the level check you want No. 1 - the pan temperature.

Also make sure you have the correct temperature range for your model year. Recent models have been 97-115 while some older models were 115-130ish.

Another question - does anyone know if there is a transfer case temp sensor? Rear differential temp sensor? I can't find any PIDs in the enhanced diagnostics for these, at least not by a name that would indicate such....

What other dashboard / sensors are folks tracking here? I have the Carista device with both the Carista and OBD Fusion apps installed. already did a couple of minor customizations with Carista and am loving geeking out on the data available in OBD but it can be a bit daunting. Right now I'm tracking engine and A/T temps, MAF, load %, RPMs, Fuel rate, etc., but would love to learn more about how the programming is using the engine / tranny. Specifically better insights into when it switches from otto to AC, when it's "learning" driving behaviors, and anything else that would be good to know.

I bought the set up b/c I was unable to diagnose a fuel / air / power issue I was experiencing. I disconnected my battery, let it reset the learning and fuel maps and now the truck is driving fine but should these issues resurface I'd like to know where to look.

    Show your OBD dashboards off!

i confirmed that fusion's T1 is in sync with the tranny temp light on the dash.

per the manual the temp range for setting the level is 97 - 115F. if you enter the tranny temp check mode the oil light will indicate the tranny oil is in range to set the level by flashing at 97F. when the temp is too high (above 115F) the light will go solid. fyi - this info is for 2014 v6.
