Well, I did a brief inspection of the OGT's front end today. My inner tie rods (both sides) are definitely toast. My steering rack bushings and LCA bushings might be toast, or on their way out as well. Not really sure about the LCAs. I don't know how much movement is normal for them. Plus, I need to drop the skid to see the rear ones better.

Also, I haven't identified the source of the clanking I was hearing going over bumps, but I have some suspicions relating to the skid plate. Kinda hope that's what it is because it will be a cheap fix.

    Good for you.

Yeah, I may end up rebushing my whole front end. It'll be a lot of work, but at least the individual parts aren't terribly expensive, though they will add up. $20 per side for LCA bushings, $31 per side for tie rod ends, and I suspect steering rack bushings will be similar pricewise. May see about getting poly bushings for it since they are under a pretty big load with those Swampers and the Lincoln locked front diff. The biggest single expense is going to be the alignment afterwards.

As far as the skid, I think I may have popped the welds on that mickey mouse factory cross-member that the front mounts to. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

I put poly bushings on my tundra and they are worth every penny. It cured for the most part the issue I was having with it tracking to the right and it most definitely tightened up the steering.
