A while ago my drums balancer fell off of it, could this be the issue I’m hearing? It seems to be coming from the drivers side of my truck just can’t pinpoint where exactly. That’s the side where I have my drum break without a balancer on it. Then again it sounds like it could be something on my driveshaft I guess haha

@wilcam47 you think the drum brake without a balancer could be the issue?

By balancer do you mean spreader bar? To open the shoes more/ equally

But you say it's coming from the front. No drums on front.
Put the rear in the air and spin those.
If something isn't tight in the drum and the shoes are flopping around , then sure.

Yeah I meant my rear. Honestly it’s kind of hard to tell where it’s coming from I may ride with my buddy and see if he can sit in the back and tell me where about he hears it at.

No, the little piece of metal that’s on the drums in the rear fell off when I was removing them to paint them.

Thanks for all the help guys, I’m probably gonna end up taking it into a shop because it’s acting funky and trying to stall on me and I feel like I can feel the transmission doing something when I’m not even shifting it and it’s just rolling. I’m not sure how to explain it but yeah, unfortunately it has to come to me taking it to a shop but I’m hoping it’s not going to be very expensive!

Yep. Didn’t make the noise. I can kind of feel like a sputter in my pedals just resting my foot on them coasting in first, and as well as this it feels like I’m getting a delayed shift when I go from neutral into first or first into second. It’s really weird and I can’t describe in but if anyone wants to make a roadtrip and help me would be much appreciated

No. Gonna take it in and see about getting that changed along with my zerks greased so I can eliminate both those from possible issues. Buddy may come over and drive it to so I can get his opinion on It. He’s worked at Subaru as a tech and he’s a VW tech right now.

have you checked the transmission fluid level? or notice any leaks
i have a slight weep in mine way up at the top in the shifter seat seals gasket whatever, will have to wait to fix that when i get a new clutch put in the next year or two or sooner if it starts slipping out of gear. it was having a rough time getting into 3rd coming off the freeway and adjusting speed, not sure if it was because of low fluid level or +30k miles on the fluid wearing down
but so far not had the issue occur yet after a couple thousand miles and some new stuff
