My local dealer quoted me $125 for front pads. Forgot to ask the part number. I've been searching on eBay for a set of genuine OE front pads and there seems to be 2 different part numbers and they both say they fit. 04465-35240 can be had for about $90, 04465-04050 are as cheap as $35. Both say they fit my truck 2001 Prerunner TRD OR. Any ideas?

Finally got around to calling the dealer and getting the part number for my brake pads. I called 2 different dealers near me, both said the P/N was 04465-04050. One quoted me $121, the other $129. I ordered the ones in the link above for $35 + shipping came out to $42. Figured I'd give you all the update...

For whatever it's worth, toyota parts deal website says that 04465-35240 are brakes for a '96-'02 4Runner and that 04465-04050 are for a '98-'04 Tacoma.

you have to look at the shape of the inside pad. There are 2 different versions for some reason. One has the same shape as the outside, the other has a "point" in the middle. I remember the first time I changed my pads I had to return the set due to that "point" not sitting correctly. The correct set has 4 of the same shape, 2 will have the wear indicator on one side, and 2 on the other.
