I'm going to replace my inner and outer tie rods.

I found some OE parts that are
    outer - $38.47 a piece
    inner - $122.92 a piece (ouch)

    Moogs are:
    outer - $30.79
    inner - $33.99

How does the Moog stuff compare to the OE? That's quite a saving on the inner tie rods. Is there a better aftermarket manufacturer? Is it okay to mix OE outers with aftermarket inners, or should I keep both inners and outers by the same manufacturer?

I've had Moog outers for somewhere around 15k miles with no complaints. Still snug.

Moog inner/outer tie rods are good.

Moog use to offer lifetime warranty . Great aftermarket parts .A good way to go if you plan to keep your truck for wheeling . They wont pay to have a shop replace them for you but if you pop them back on the parts counter after a couple years with the original receipt , you get new ones in replace of the old . A little more pricey but may be worth your time to ask about them.
I should add that most manufacturers consider 50,000 miles a lifetime as far as front end components should last . This is why they get away with polyurethane ball joints , tie rod ends etc .I still beleive the better front end components should have a grease zerk so you can get the moisture out and fresh lube in .

Go with MOOG. I used to race a class 7s off road truck that ran all moog ball joints. We put thousands of miles on that race truck and never broke a moog part. So far they have always worked for me, Id go with moog.

Moog is garbage, they're nothing more than a re-boxer of China's finest back alley crapperware. I had a horrible experience with Moog stuff on two cars and never again, not even if it was free.

Grey wire and keyless entry. I like stock.
You bought from a rebox jobber or wholesaler then. Original Federal Mogul owned Moog is produced in TN and is definitely not shit. As close to OEM quality as you'll get. If you buy from a local store, you should be golden. If you buy from an online store, its a gamble as to what they're sending you. Doesn't take a lot of money to reprint Moog boxes.

You're kiddding yourself if you think Moog casts, molds, forges and machines every singe part in TN. Federal Mogul is one of the largest re-boxers of Chinese back alley shit. There's a reason why OEM costs more and at the end of the day I value my time.
