    I als
I also have a very expensive system in my 98 Ranger. Like You it can go very loud and thump but I like clarity and precise bass. The OEM 450 will give you that. I didn't want to go through weeks of install. Instead one good day. I'm very impressed.

The JBL can get distorted at higher volumes, doesn't have near the clarity and fullness of the OEM+.. You can actually feel the bass coming from the OEM Audio where as you can only hear the bass from the JBL and its not as sharp or punchy as the OEM Audio Sub. I assure you, the OEM Audio option is hands down the way to go. Unless you want just arrss loads of bass (which is retarded) you will be very happy with OEM Audio...

I like SQ, it's most important hands down, but do like to literally and figuratively feel the music, mainly feel the lows, I mean pretty much that's about the only frequencies you'll feel anyway, I guess bc the wave length and duration etc....
But I just can't stand harsh unequalized ear fatiguing sound. It really bothers my already sensitive hearing, with tinnitus etc.

The best description of what I would call a good well rounded sound.. Years ago I sat in a older 98 Volvo S70.. Believe it or not, it had a very nice sounding factory system. I don't even think it was an up graded one..
But I think it had a lot to do with the placement of all the speakers, creating an awesome sound stage.. You could listen to it all day and never hurt your ears. It literally sounded better than many after market thousands of dollar systems I've heard.
However it is possible they also used Dyna Audio speakers. Which are supposed to be legit.

I wish I could achieve that level of listening experience (at least), if I could get that but just bumped up a couple notches, I'd be set.

Update! Received an email from Daniel today and the design phase for a dual subwoofer setup has begun! Saw prototype photos of the drop in box for the passenger side and it's just as awesome as the one on the driver side. For those who already have the current system, they are ensuring there will be an upgrade path to add this second woofer in the future.

This is awesome news! Will keep you posted if as I find out more.

i wasted my hearing in the music biz as a musician and engineer. i need more clarity, volume, and feel (as in punch) than any of these systems can provide. I've tried to make do with compromised systems but they always have me feeling i wasted the money. so i went to town on the custom SQ system thing and achieved what i want. yeah, like you guys say it was a PITA, took forever, and cost an arm and a leg.

Anyone in vegas have the OEM+ audio setup, I would like the chance to hear it before I buy it, because 1500 is a lot to spend on audio without knowing what I'm getting myself into.

Id love the OEM+ system, even though I have the JBL, I too prefer precision and clarity.

But I want tires/wheels first. I'd also love to hear a local near Prove/SLC/Ogden UTah with this setup.

Mexican coke comes in glass bottles and has real cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup; it is superior.

Anyone with the OEM+ system in North Western Washington, or South West BC?

I'm tempted but with current exchange rate, hesitant.
