My system was delivered last week finally. Did anyone else get less than the whole order? For some reason my rear door speakers won’t get to me until mid-May. I’m hoping to install what I have this weekend along with the rest of my sound deadening materials.

Installed my dash and door speakers this past weekend, weather stopped me from finishing, so hopefully finish this weekend.
I was installing sound deadening also, so that took way more time than swapping the speakers.
Sounds much better with just the speakers replaced, excited to get amps and sub installed to hear the difference.

Can anyone tell me what it’s like sitting in the back seat with the subwoofer directly behind your back? Is it annoying? I often have kids in the back...

I believe noth'n is pertrudding to make the rear seat uncomfortable and I believe you got a "OEM+ bass knob", the hu fader adjustment/volume knob to play with.

my other 1/2 does not like loud music and I feel like I wasted my money at times but on rare occasions when I'm alone for a ride. Audio system upgrade seems to have been more of a personal accomplishment for me, I could afford it and I self installed an audio system more than anything else having done it. lol

I find my kids are pretty annoying too, especially when they kick the seat.

    Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Is there a reason you’d be in the back? I’m not often back there except to buckle and unbuckle the monsters or load gear.

So I need help with my OEM Audio Plus system for my 2021 JBL system.
As I said, speakers installed no problems.
Went to install amps and new sub and I am confused.
The wires to my radio do not look like any others I have seen on videos, one sent from OEM and the other on YouTube.
I think I have the radio wiring figured out but would be nice to know for sure.
My new sub wires are completely different with an extra one pin male spade connector wire, so need some guidance on those.

I have a 2 pin wiring harness, male on one end, female on the other with no idea where it goes.
I have a 4 pin wiring harness just using two pins with a larger connector on one end and no idea where it goes.

If anyone has installed the OEM Audio Plus in a 2021 JBL and can help, I will be forever grateful.

I did send OEM Audio an email but it will probably be Monday before they respond.

A set of instructions would help, nothing included.

I know it doesn’t solve your problems at the moment, but maybe they sent you a non-JBL wiring harness instead of a JBL harness?

Anything is possible but I watched an install on a 2020 non JBL and the sub and wiring harness looks completely different from what I have. I have the Toyota SOS systems so think that may be part of the problem. Thanks for responding, any idea is worth considering. I need OEM Audio to respond.

I wouldn’t be in the back, but passengers will be there including my teenage boys.

I’m just wondering if I should splurge on this when I can upgrade the speakers and get rock sliders for less money. $1600? Ouch...

youtube Jesse Rizo i think he had Daniel install his into his new tacoma not sure if if was a 2020 or 2021. Maybe that will help there were some wiring changes. can't remember if it was at the speakers or behind the head unit. there was some adapters you may need that maybe got missed in your kit... if they don't answer email try to call them.

Ah, I understand the question now.

I would not worry about your teenage sons being overwhelmed by bass behind their backs. As a teenager I could not get enough bass. More power to you if all of you can agree on music. I have no expectation that my sons will ever like anything I do, we listen to Grim Grimmer Grimmest and Disney in the car (sad but true).

I think OEM Audios strengths are the installation streamlining with the plug and play harness and the subwoofer stealthiness factor if you really want to keep the cubbies (I don’t know why anyone would.)

I do think you can do better for less money or same money and significantly better parts. I also think the #1 upgrade is the head unit and outside of @svermilyea , I don’t think many run OEM Audio with an upgraded head unit as it’s optimized to correct the etune’s shortcomings.

it’s awfully difficult to optimize a soundstage for front and rear seats in a small vehicle. I wouldn’t focus on that.

Stereo and sliders are very different things though.

Personally, $1600 would be a tight budget for me. But you can for sure get a new head unit and speakers or just speakers amp and sub for that.

My vision of my own teenage sons in my truck is they have their own tablets and headphones and they don’t respond to me for any reason other than maybe to flip me the bird if I try to engage them in a conversation. Perhaps I’m too pessimistic though? We will hopefully find out in 10 years.

Just for clarification. I had my OEM Audio Plus install right after I got my truck back in 2018. I used the system through two DASITIA (Android) head unit upgrades and finally the upgrade to the WC6600. I have no doubt that you can upgrade to better components for less money, but what you will not get is a complete wiring harness that is custom fit and plug and play. If you are an audiophile and enjoy building a system, by all means go for it. If you want an easy plug and play install, that is custom fit to your truck, then have someone else install your components or buy the OEM Audio Plus setup. Either way, by the time you pay for your install, you will spend about the same money between components and install cost.

OEM Audio Plus customer service is spot on, just as Best Buy's customer service.

As for the OEM Audio Plus custom tuning, it is a best attempt to optimize the sound stage inside the truck, not necessarily to custom tune for the Entune head unit. In fact, when you order a system from OEM Audio Plus, they will optimize it to the seat coverings (cloth vs leather).

understood. I believe the OEM+ dsp amp is tuned with the factory radio and with their speakers in place. Did you hear any noticeable difference changing the head units?

I watched Jesse Rizzo's yt where he removed the OEM system in his '18 and placed it into a '20. After the swap they mentioned it sounded okay but reTuning the dsp for the '20 head unit made it sound much better.

    Just wondering

When I went from the Entune Premium head unit to the Dasaitia PX5 the system sounded slightly better. The Dasaitia PX6 was significantly better due to the addition of a DSP in the head unit. The move to the WC6600 was lightyears better. The fine tuning available in the WC6600 is great and make the OEM Audio + rock. I just added the standalone amp for the Sub with a sub volume control and It really makes the most out of their sub.

Both the 2nd gen DSP and Standalone Amps have adjustable tuning and gain pots. I emailed support and they emailed me the procedure for the gain adjustment.
