    Hi all,

I was curious if anybody has installed the OEM Audio+ system in their tacoma? Or if anyone has heard anything about the reliability and performance of these systems? Thanks in advance!!

I haven't installed one of those but I've done enough stereo's that I can say it's one of the easiest installs you'll find for the Tacoma.

Sound is decent from what I'm told by one person I trust to give me a good review of the system. So far everyone who has one seems to like it a lot.

Okay, great thank you! I have been looking at them for a bit. My only problem is the price...

Wow, brand new member calling people ass hole.... Im just saying he told you to use the search function because there are several threads related to OEM Audio in the 3rd Gens.... People who have purchased it, installed, and love it.

Those are the reviews your looking for. The search function is great... Calling people an ass hole on post 4, not so much....

    Thank you @mistah !

There are nicer ways to respond to a post @Taco-ToDay. A simple "there are other threads about this subject on the forum" would have sufficed.

He simply said use the search function. Your response was over kill calling him asshole.

Now if he had said "Use the search function you stupid cock smoker" then you calling him an asshole would of been ok.

I have had the system installed for a week now (d-cab, standard unit with Navi), in my opinion it is worth the $$$! If you want a great sounding "plug and play" system OEM Audio Plus is the only way to go.

I did not want to mod my Truck to install a better system. Been there done that.

The speakers are made for your application, small details like the basket hooks (hold the speakers in place while you hunt for the bolts...lol), the factory style connectors and front foam gasket (push up against the door panel to prevent wave loss). Many components are well thought out for easy install and removal if required.

A specific sound curve is flashed into the DSP Amp for each application.
The system has great sound stage using the standard speaker locations. The 8" subwoofer and drop in enclosure looks great and the balance of the system is not seen just like OE.

As far as the sound, it gets loud but remains clear and very natural sounding. If you are searching for a system that rattles the windows like crazy, well this is not the system for you. The bass reproduction is more on the tight or punchy side vs a loose boomy base.

The carbon fiber front 6x9s go low and really fill the cab vs the stock speakers (i actually installed the speakers 1st then the amp and sub later).

Note: I installed Noico black sound deading material in my doors and back panel.

As for longevity, I am sure the team at OEM will take care of their product (as long as it is not abused).

And "while I was in there" my friends over at Beat-Sonic installed a Navi By-Pass and AV in (iPhone mirroring) interface.

Hope this offers some insight. P1020623.jpg

I installed this kit about 2 weeks or so ago. So far I love it. Install took me about 4-4.5 hours, and was simple enough following their install video. I say it was worth it.

@Brick_26 and @zerospeed thank y'all so much for your reviews, they are very helpful! I will probably be investing in one of these systems later down the road! I think they are a great alternative for those of us that did not get the JBL systems from the factory
