So about 2 months ago I got the 3 inch bilstein 5100 lift from toytec. After only the first maybe 3 weeks I noticed that both of my cv boots were blown. My dad works at Toyota so I got 2 new OEM boot kits and put them on myself and they seemed fine but today I noticed some grease on my fender and went to check it out and both of my inner cv boots were blown again. Does anyone know of a boot that's not going to break after only a few weeks or if I should try lowering the setting on my 5100s. I'm currently on stock wheels with 285s and 1.25 inch wheel spacers so if I was to lower my shocks would I still be able to clear the tires? Any input helps, thanks.

Sounds like you have too much lift and the ripples in your CV joints are running themselves though. Your CV angle is probably too high. You might want to fix this with a front diff drop so the angle of the CV joints is lower and the boots aren't binding/rubbing.

I actually already have the diff drop that comes with the lift and it's been on since the lift has.

Post a pic of your front CV joints and boots so we can see what we're dealing with here

Holy shit dude. No wonder your CV boots are blowing. See how the ridges are touching? They shouldn't touch. That's way too much angle

Dont look like 5100s are on bottom setting

EDIT: reread your post and looks like you dont have them on bottom setting. with that coil they NEED to be on the bottom setting.

FYI, the CVs should almost be a straight line from your front diff to the hub. At most there should be a few degrees of an up angle from the hub to the front diff. It looks like you have about 40 degrees of angle or more there. You need to drop that front down.

The shocks should be at the lowest clip setting.

With the setting on the shocks set lower will I still be able to clear 285s with minimal trimming? Also, could I get a bigger diff drop to help even out the cv axle?

Welp, you can officially call me the stupidest person in the world because I just went back and read about my lift kit and it says in all caps "DO NOT EXCEED BOTTOM CLIP SETTING OR DAMAGE WILL OCCUR". When I get a chance I'll lower the clips and hope that fixes the problem. My trucks ride has been pretty bad since I put that lift on and i never thought too much about it. Thanks everyone for the help.
