OEM e-locker question

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but the OEM rear locker or e-locker in the 3rd Gen OR and Pro is activated by an electromagnetic switch right? Which should mean that when power is supplied to the switch the locker is engaged. Currently the OEM locker can only be activated when in 4lo but would it not be reasonable to think that one could simply run an auxiliary switch on the dash that activates or deactivates the e-locker.

    The switch isn't electromagnetic it's just a switch. The locker actuator is an electromagnetic solenoid. What you are proposing can be done and implementation methods have been covered in many threads.

    Here is a thread that has info on an install on a Sport that didn't have the locker originally. It has great info on setting up an anytime diff lock as well.
