My fender flare painting project is not going too well. I only pulled one of them off to start with and it was one that had a slight blemish from a collision with a sign one day. The finish is really coming out CRAPPY! I may want to replace this flare eventually. I called the local dealership, and they want $157 for the fender flare, and $18 for the rubber gasket that fits in between the flare and fender. I will not pay that for one stinkin flare. Does anybody know of a less expensive source to get this thing when the time comes? It is an 04 Double Cab PreRunner and it is the black plastic front passenger side flare.

    Thanks guys..............

How about trying a junkyard? But junkyards sometimes charge more than what it costs new.

It's extremely rare to come across a Tacoma in a junk yard. You just don't ever see one there. Guess their not "junk". Seriously though, I did make some calls................No go.

Out here in California there are many all Toyota junkyards with many Tacomas. There is one in Sacramento that even has the 05+ Tacomas that people have rolled or caught on fire. Shipping would be rediculous though.

But if you buy new fender flares, don't they only sell them in pairs or sets of 4?

No, you can just buy the "one" that you need. Pensive though.

Don't assume the ones on my 2000 would have fit the 01 - 04, but i probably should have taken them off before selling it back to Toyota. They were in great shape other that some sandblasting (light paint chipping) of the paint in the front lower end of the rears.
