Remove a tail light assembly and verify if the connector is there. Then look for the Cargo Bed lamp switch connector in the cab (behind the cubby).

Ok.Will the lamps work without a switch and where is the relay located? Some say they come on with the doors opening. This is for a 2021 SR.Sorry but the thread bounces around.

Gotta know what your Taco has or doesn't. SR usually do not have the relay installed but the terminals to accept it are there. (cab fuse box) You'd need a switch to have them on when you want, it does not have to be a OEM one. If you tap a purple wire that is part of the switch wires, then they'd be ON only when the door is open and at unlock/lock. Not when you'd need them to be ON.

Since the vehicle does not have the switch, place a thin wire (jumper) from the wire side of the connector from the blue to the purple.

With the meter, verify juice on the connectors at the tail light assembly space.
Some forum members have reported that the wire from those connectors do not have a wire from the engine room fuse/relay/connector box to the cab.

    Hello,
I’m thinking of installing these 2020 OEM bed lights on my 2015. I’ll try to make a template out of cardboard or paper once I have the lights.

Ground them both somewhere in the rear of the truck,

Mount a waterproof or water resistant on/off button im the bed near the tailgate,

Run a fused power wire from the lights to the battery.

I know I will need to buy extra wire but don’t know what gauge. I’ll just match the wire thickness to that of the OE plugs in the light kit.

    Questions,
What amp fuse do I need to run these lights? 5 amp, 7.5 amp? 10 amp?

What is the power draw on these lights?

Anybody know if this kit is plug and play on a 2021 SR5? Does have the switch in the cab but don’t want to take my tail light apart if it doesn’t fit.

It is plug and play for the most part, 2020+ model years. Just pop the cover and plug in. You may need to install a switch or relay, it your truck did not come with it pre-installed.

    I've attached the pdf.

    My 20 took longer to unbox than install. I can’t see why a 21 wouldn’t come pre-wired?

I'd never assume with Toyota, they like to change weird wiring things between years. For example, my 2020 Sport that didn't come with Homelink had the right wires (for the Homelink), but the constant hot wire was just a dead wire. It's easy enough to confirm before buying with the bed lights.

So is the '21 Access Cab pre-wired for this except for the relay and switch?

The wiring is there but the switch is not. The relay may or may not be there, depending on the trim level. Confirm whether you have the relay before ordering it. (Mine had it.)
