Ok, I think I’m going to try and retro fit these in my 2017 by cutting the hole you 2020s have stock.

could someone post detailed photos of measurements of the hole?

I need measurement of the hole itself as well as how far down and in the hole starts? Make sense?

Let me know! I might be able to make a template for anybody else who likes these 2020 lights better than the 2016-2019 OEM lights.

also, if anybody would be cool enough to mail me the pop off covers that are no longer used after you installed the lights, that would help too!

I couldn't tell you about the 3rd brake light. I'd like to see someone post something over it before I try to put one in. I'm just not sure if it's plug and play.

I wonder if the 2018 Trd models are pre-wired for the bed lights?

Thanks PK, same part number they ordered my first lights with and we received the 2019 versions in the bag with the manual for this part number. When the dealership called Toyota to ask what's up with that, they told them the correct ones were still on back order. To which they asked them, "Then why send out the wrong lights in a bag with the a different manual and part number listed?" OMG Toyota..... someone please get them sobered up!

    Guys:

Stupid question here, how does it turn on if you do not have the cargo light option installed?

I have a 2020 AC Sport. I purchased the lights, switch, and relay. I have installed the lights and plugged them into the included cable in the taillights, everything seemed to fit like in the instructions... There is a blank on the left side by my steering wheel that looks like it will fit the switch, which I have not been able to remove yet as I am concerned with scratching it up. I think the switches on the left of the steering wheel just pulls straight out from what I read... I will look at after work today.

I do not see a place for the relay like in the install instructions on page 6 of 8 and the very helpful "see repair manual for R&R of cargo light switch" instructions since I did not get that from the TIS before my 2 day subscription expired...:(:(

Does anyone have the repair manual for R&R of cargo light switch that I can look at?

Does anyone know if the A/C install is different than crew cabs?

    Thank you for any help!:)

I’ve got a 19’ and instead of the OEM set up I went with @mattgecko. His kit is nicely put together and a super easy install. Took about an hour. The waterproof button is right near my AC outlet. Love it and the light output is probably a lot better than the OEM kit.

I've had my lights installed for many years and they are stuck like the first day I installed them. I dont use the tape that the lights come with, real 3M tape is installed.

Haha I’m rather pleasant, just seen a handful of people have those LED strips and they have started to droop and don’t stick anymore. I’m sure in the right climate they will do fine! Does give better light!

Just prefer OEM quality on most things.

I prefer whatever works best. Sometimes OEM parts don’t cut it. We’ll see how these hold up when I start driving to the valley in the summer. Maybe the Bakflip with help with the heat deflection. I’d also rather support members here especially with what’s going on right now.

I don't think you need the relay. There should be a factory cargo light switch already. Left of the steering wheel. See page 349 in the owners manual.

Shouldn’t be too hard to run Geckos lights directly to that switch and tap in. Run the wire under the drivers seat then up to the dash.

Access cabs don't have a cargo light therefore no switch, just blanks
