Took 6 weeks to replace mine, just finally got it replaced. Anyone have problems with the reception? Mine is terrible! Has stayed the same through both radios...I even tightened the antenna which kept coming loose (not even finger tight before I eventually used a wrench to tighten it).

Overall I think they are crap even compared to like a Camry radio. I've already planned on replacing it with a DVD/Garmin unit.

My '09, built in week 1/2 of July this year at NUMMI, has not (yet) had any problems with the radio.

Unfortunately these radios are junk. They are manufactured by AC-Delco and Toyota has been having fits with them.

BTW, I’m on my 3rd factory radio in my 09. So far, so good but it is only 2 weeks old. I’m not holding my breath.:(

My 2009 radio had problems, and the dealer replaced it a few months ago. No problems since the replacement. The dealer didn't give me any trouble at all.

The radio in my 09 randomly shuts off and sometimes the LCD screen wouldn't come on. The Dealership replaced the unit no problems yet with the new one:)

I have an 09 pre - CD player refuses to return my CD, horrible reception, and I can suggest a radio station from the presets, but the radio seems to have the final say. going aftermarket.

only 1 month into owning my 09 taco, the backlight doesnt always come on. i have to tap the radio for it to come on. sometimes the volume knob does not work. the dealership had no problem in replacing the radio. of course its on back order. i'll be calling them tomorrow to find out if its in yet.

Tell them about this Forum and show that everyone is having problems with there radio. Then say you will report this to the Automotive Bureau in your state if they say to you - "We cannot repeat this problem". They should replace the entire radio with a new one, not a refurb one.

09 with issues pretty much since the day I brought it home. Dealer ordered a new one for me about a month ago, still no word on ETA. Issues are at their worst when the truck has been sitting in the sun.

    Volume randomly drops
    Randomly shuts off
Display randomly goes out (fixed by pushing against the radio trim)
Backlighting randomly goes out at night

09 Access Cab - California May 2009 build, single CD stock radio. Just added 'yes' to poll. Enjoying nice drive through country last night when radio not being on, suddenly came on full blast. Must have jumped four feet. Back to the dealer....thanks for the poll.

Mine is an 09 and having the same problems as everyone else. Turns off and on whenever it feels like it, volume and seek knob randomly dont work. Noticed this for the first time when I was driving it home from the dealership.

Bought the truck in May had the radio replaced in June and now the replacement is doing the same thing. Have another one waiting on me at the dealership just got to find time to go by there when they are open. If this one messes up I'm going to make them put in a JBL radio
