For those that did not have a gap on the drivers side. Did you have to break the vertical tabs (see post 45)?
Are those tabs used for the OEM trim molding?
Asking because I'm on the fench in regards to buyin

Yes, I broke the tabs. No gap here. I figured the roof rack is permanent so what the hell. .. :)

Gave away my roof strips too. .. there is no going back! Love the OEM rack!

Lol my feeling was mutual. It's not really functional compared to some other racks but it definitely looks good.

Mine did as well... it was a nightmare. Some bolts went in like butter, others were kind of tough and then on the passenger side, the middle bolt won't even go in.. at all...

The install went well on my truck, no gaps, did have one hole not threaded right in the front bracket itself, had to force it, was not straight, had problems with yellow clip on one side and when I screwed the that side down to the front bracket it pulled the whole thing down. Not too bad for a DIY. Took a couple of hours maybe three.

    Working on it!
Couple of questions for you guys...
I read somewhere that 2012s don't have the bolt holes for instillation. Can anyone with confirm or deny?

Second question has anyone had water leaking issues? I read before some people using silicon or plumber's tape. For those who did, where did you use them?

    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

I have a 2013, it was completely fine. Although the fit and finish if far from perfect I have zero leaks and I just screwed it in, nothing special used.

Nice thread but quick question. Just installed a buddies OEM roof rack on his 2016. Looks great and went it easily but the rubber/plastic that runs around the bottom of the rack making contact to the roof of the truck has a few minor gaps. It came with gaskets to go around the screw holes of which I assume will prevent the water from leaking through but wanted to see if anyone else had similar experience. Few pics to show gap size....these few are probably the largest....should I put something to help fill that gap? Thoughts?

    Hello all.

I have found a replacement yellow faster for the OE roof rack. It is not exact but it fits into the notch in the in the roof rack itself and the hole on the mounting bracket.

It is from Dorman, part number 963-221.

    Hope this helps,
    NP

Guys- quick question. The tape on the roof that is over the factory holes: are you guys leaving that, then just putting the sealant down in the holes that you punched through it? (I'm using an anaerobic sealant)

    Thanks,
    Coe

Are you talking about when installing a new roof rack or just putting down the drip strips?
