I wanted Demello sliders, but all that drilling...

Anyone have an opinion on OCF Sliders? Are they just for looks and intended to be used as steps?

Get a load of the mounting design, seems a bit under-engineered, no? Oh, and they're two-piece for compact shipping.

Fairly light, like Demello round tube sliders.

If your going to use them as rock sliders then the last thing I would be concerned with is weight. If they are just going to be used as steps then that is a totally different story. Just so you know my kids use my BAMF 10* sliders as steps all the time but they also can support the whole weight of my truck no problem

I wouldn't trust those with the weight of the truck

The Demello's are 80 lbs total and can support the full weight of the truck. But drilling. ...It's a 4 banger, every pound counts.

Not a fan of drilling 6 holes in the frame.

It's really not that big of a deal. Also lots of no drills out there. No idea what they weigh though

Never heard of them, actually. Doesn't mean they're crap, but I've been around tacomas and off road for a while now, and they just haven't cropped up on my radar before.

I'm running the weld-on 4xInnovations sliders on my best gen, and I can't be happier. I haven't done a ton of bashing on them yet, but for the price ($250 for 1.75" .120 DOM tubing), they're pretty unbeatable. Pay a welder $200 to throw them on and you're still under the price of most other bolt-on sliders.

There's a youtube video of them drop testing the sliders with a 4Runner. They bent the frame before the sliders showed any sign of yielding.

Being 2 piece worries me. First, that seems like a weak point. Secondly, unless it is somehow sealed, you will get moisture in there and eventually they will rust and weaken. As it is inside you won't know until it's a big problem. Those mounts do look weak to me for sure too compared to 1.75 DOM or square tube.

If every pound counts, find some aluminum sliders, along with aluminum skid plates and bumpers.

    Strong, Light, Inexpensive.

    Pick 2
