    Hey guys!
James (Outlaw Off-Road) reached out to me.
He's been slammed and apologized for not getting back right away to our inquiries. I can't fault the guy...'tis the SEMA season!

Here's a little update (and some reiteration)...

Meet up time is 0700. "Address on the website". Ready to roll 0730.
He didn't post the time because he doesn't want a huge tagalong crowd that aren't vetted first.
HAM radios are ok for the VHF requirement.
James has a 4Runner and will be posted at the address at 7 am and there is a gas station at that same spot for fueling up.
Due to recent rain, the lakebed may be a bit sketchy but nothing we can't all get through.
:mudding:We may be hauling ass through there depending on conditions:mudding:
So far, 15-16 are registered with more expected as we get closer.
Bring a bit of fire wood, food, water-water-water
Extra fuel probably won't be needed but bring some anyway.
If you know for sure you won't need any, always bring some for someone else.
Same requirements as OP are a MUST!!!

He did mention (not a requirement!) that they have Off The Grid memberships for $150 that will provide access to their future runs, and SWAG (t-shirt, sweatshirt and hat). That's a decent deal if you ask me. Again, he wasn't trying to promote, rather to let us know it is available.

I will have his phone number for the morning of if anyone needs it near that time.
Feel free to PM me your number and I will forward it to you near Nov 5th.

Edit: Removed reported camp location. Pretty sure we'll camp where we need to.

Is this an adult trip only? I have a 6 year son that would dig it.

I edited the post. He may have misspoken. He was quite busy while on the phone with me. We'll camp where we camp :)
    Still 2 days.

I was actually considering camping Friday night. For me its a 2.5hr drive to Barstow, that would make it a LONG day Saturday.

Need to see if I can get off Friday or at least a half day.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
    Just gonna state the obvious:

Baofeng, and other handheld devices alike, operate on HAM bands.. requiring a HAM license.

HAM operates on the 2meter spectrum, 144-148, of the VHF bands. Other VHF includes MURS/GMRS. Lots of overlap/segments/spectrums within radio bands. Know which have restrictions.

*If you have a Baofeng, and don't have a license: use at your own risk. You can be cited for it.

    Just FYI

This is a good point, Im figuring these guys have done this before and maybe dont use HAM freqs? The frequencies used by the FRS radios you would by at radio shack and require no license I believe are UHF and within the capability of the Baofeng, so maybe we use those?
