I’ve been saying it for years I don’t give a fuck about conference loyalty. The only teams I ever want to see win are Texas and Jacksonville State University. So how gross do you sec homers feel to have to support Texas?

 

I’m supporting Texas for that exact reason lol. I’ve never been a conference homer. Who cheers for their conference opponents? That’s stupid af. I know, me cheering for Texas goes against that, it’s the principal of it haha

 

Also can anyone that claims the tackle on the ASU player at the end of the game was targeting please point out the part of the rule that defends that position.

 

Note 1 bullet 3. Leading with helmet blah blah to head area. Bullet 4 as well since he lowered his head before the tackle.

I was rooting for ASU over Texas (albeit because I didn’t want us to play them again if it got that far - I don’t think you’re beating a team 3 times). I’ll either be pulling for Penn State to win it all or for c0vid to come back and cancel the rest of the playoffs.

I hate the rule, so I’m not super pissed it wasn’t called. But…it WAS targeting

 

Depends on the conference opponent. But I'd say it mainly stems from familiarity with the opponent...that and how annoying you find the opposing conference. Especially when their fans make claims like saying the fourth best SEC team would beat the best BigTen team.

 

This. Although I'll root for Texas because fuck Ohio. But I feel like James Franklin will choke against Notre Dame too.

 

Really hoping to see a release saying that Mike Bobo and UGA have mutually parted ways. Kirby will never put out that Bobo was fired. But if he doesn’t get rid of him, there might be an uprising among fans

 

Maybe Ole Miss could have done something fun in the playoffs, maybe not. It was just Duke after all.

 

Also this year is a great testament to increasing the playoff size. Look who is left? Seeds 5,6,7,8. Not 1-4. Granted, the seeding was stupid and some would not have been where they are, but Oregon/Georgia for sure would’ve been in the 1-4. Now they’re out.

I don't follow college football as closely as most of you guys. But I think that a bye hurts a team more than it helps, unless a key player is hurting and the bye week would really help him.

Lowered his head? The crown of the helmet is defined in the rule. Again it was face mask to face mask.
A text book tackle. The only reason anyone is saying targeting is 1. The kid was knocked out. 2. It was Texas


Any other fucking uniform on that kid, and the refs call targeting, every one in the country would be making the exact opposite arguments they are now.

 

I'll admit, I didn't even watch the game. Can someone post a vid of the clear targeting? Whatever video I just found wasn't very convincing to me.
Edit: found a better video. Still not convinced that it "should" be targeting, but am convinced nearly every tackle is targeting by definition, so in conclusion; its probably targeting. I say they got the call right (by me), but wrong (by the rules they're supposed to enforce).
