That is all correct except I already had the blinker wires. I just had to add wires for the puddle lights and heated mirrors. If you don't have factory blinkers you will need to transfer those from the 4runner harness and you'll need to run them from your door to a connection point in the truck to make them blink.

OK. Thanks for the clarification. This makes me a bit more relieved that what I bought will work and what I want to do will be possible. I will also need to run a wire for the puddle lights as the only connection I have right now is for the directional control for the up, down, left, and right.

Where did/are you going to tap into for your puddle lights?

I'm going to use an add a fuse from the fuse box and then connect to the variable ground for the interior lights near the fuse panel. Don't quote me on this but I believe it's a blue wire. I'll be doing some tests with a multi meter tonight. My harness from Jaimes will be here sometime next week I think. PM me if you have any questions one you get into it.

Baby it's cold outside! And I have no garage, or heated garage so I am not sure exactly how long it will take me to complete this mod. I may see if I can just get the mirrors set and do the wiring afterwards. All I want for Christmas is a heated garage! Thanks David!

I don't have a heated garage either. I've just learned to deal with the cold. You are a little further north than me but I doubt the wind there gusts like here. At least when I move to Alaska in February I'll have a heated garage there.

You win which actually means you loose haha. I just confirmed the wire for the puddle lights too. They just need 12v and ground here.blue wire.jpg

Maybe, maybe not. It seems that when there is a lot of snow in AK there is not so much here and the opposite holds true. Of course that depends on which part of Maine you are referencing and which part of AK.

Let me know what you think about the write up man. All of your instructions have always been very detailed and straight forward. So hopefully these aren't too far off.

Here's some teaser pics. This was with a 9v battery and yes I'll be using LEDs.

I'll be having reading it tonight, but at a glance looks great! My 4Runner mirrors will be in at the end of the week so I'm sure it'll come in handy for me.

    Reported for ban lol

The write up looks really good to me, I always like a good mix of both pictures and breakdowns. Was there more to the aftermarket mirror that held the mirror in place? At least as shown the OEM components look much more beefy.

Nope. It was literally two little clips on the back of the glass. Which I actually broke while removing it haha.

Does anyone know what the factory Tacoma wires are in the mirror?

I'm in the middle of this and the only place I could find that had female 4runner connectors (to connect to the 4runner mirror) only had one, and was a 2 month wait until they made more. So my new plan is to reuse the factory connector and run my own wires for the 'new' stuff like the heat and puddle lamps.

Before I cut the connector and swap it to the 4runner mirror I'd love to have an idea what each wire is so they match.
