I ran into this same problem. The harness that Jaimes is making me will be using this Factory Toyota connector for the extra wires.

Can you send a picture of the connector/wires that you're asking about? I'm assuming you're asking about a 2011.

It's the round 5 pin in the door, that connects to the Tacoma motor. I don't have it apart yet, but the part that's confusing is from what I've read the factory only uses 3 wires (power, left/right, up/down) what are the other two wires for?

I'll get my multi meter out tonight and figure it out. Any input on this @Up2NoGood?

That's the beast. Thanks! It's ~14* right now so I doubt I'll be outside anytime soon to install these.

P.s. your name, did you go to Nazareth College?

It's about the same here but I have a garage with a nice little heater lol. No I'm originally from Nazareth PA(naz) and I played lacrosse(lax). Then the 10 is when I graduated.

Was a key reason for doing this swap the puddle lights? My buddy has a F-150 with puddle lights and I don't know why, I just wish my Tacoma had them.

Well I originally wanted heated mirrors. I was going to get just the mirror part in a kit, but for less money I was able to do this mod and the puddle lights are just a bonus.

The other two slots are for the turn signals built into the mirrors.

To all the readers of this thread who are contemplating doing this...stop procrastinating and do it. It really isn't that hard or complex.

The heated mirror alone is worth it at 12 degrees here in Ohio.

And if you've got the door panel off just adding heat...you might as well pull the circuits for the puddle and turn signals.

    Just Do It!!

Those look fantastic! You're absolutely right though. It's an extra four wires that will take maybe a few extra minutes to install.
