The wiring should be pretty similar. I would talk to up2nogood. He can make you a custom harness that has everything you need and make it plug and play or pretty damn close!

So do I just gently pull really hard on the glass to get it out of the housing.. This 4Runner glass is in there. real good

If you are trying to swap the guts out with your 2011 mirrors, they won't work. Different design motor. Leave the 4runner mirrors the way they are and swap arms.

So this write up was done on a 12-15 model. Has anyone done it on a 05-11? Wanting to do this on my 2010 Xrunner

Yes, I recently did this on my 2011. The 05-11 mirror motors are different than the 12-15 and will not swap out. Just buy the mirrors, swap the arms, and wire them up. They work fine.

Do 2013 mirrors fit a 2011? Does anyone know.. they look the same.

Please excuse my ignorance but are these power folding mirrors too? The switch pictured in the original post seems to indicated a mirror folding graphic.

Mirrors are not power folding - the switch is used for the heat feature these mirrors have.

    Alright, so to confirm.

Is disassembly really necessary, or can you simply swap the arms and figure out the wiring. Not sure if the runner uses different signal combos for the motor controls.

Also, I see you've included a link to additional heated glass. Do the mirrors not come heated already? Why the additional glass?

What time relay did you use for the heated mirror circuit?

I went a little crazy and bought an OEM mirror, so I need to be a little frugal for the remainder of the parts lol.

I also bought OEM mirrors after reading some of the issues with aftermarket mirrors that move in the slipstream. That said, I bought mine used. They are different colors but I can paint the plastic.

The used mirrors I bought were already heated so I only had to disassemble enough to get the 4Runner mirror on the Tacoma arm (no glass removal required).

    I bought a harness from Up2NoGood

    IMG_0573.jpg

It came with everything I needed to plug and play the new mirrors - its an excellent kit, I highly recommend it. If I recall correctly the timer was set for 5 minutes but is adjustable if you need longer. I used the heated mirrors all winter and the puddle lights are a nice feature as well.

How did you get ahold of him for the harness or was it a while ago. I tried to PM him about the harness, but haven't gotten a reply. It has been awhile.

Just replied to your message. For some reason I didn't get an email alert for your first PM. Unfortunately I am heading out on a trip (Australia so maybe not so unfortunate :p ) but I would be happy to work with you on a harness once I'm back and caught up a little.
